“We love SF”

The hotel was clean and well-located to transit, restaurants, etc. There was no airconditioning but, San Francisco at this time of year is cool at nights and we weren't there at all during the day. The staff(owners) were very helpful. I would stay again and recommend this hotel.

Museum of Modern Art Fisherman's Wharf Alcatraz Haight-Asbury Cow Valley neighbourhood - becuase of the restaurants
Getting around
CityPass was a great investment. For $69.00 each it gave us 4 passes to popular sites (MOMA, Bay Cruise, Aquarium and Science Centre). It also gave full access to all Municipal transportation and the cable cars for 9 days.

“ok, but forget about breakfast”

The hotel is ok. I took it hopign breakfast would be decent. It was somewhat different than described by other travellers. Fresh fruits was nice, but then we went to get a sandwich nearby on Van Ness. the shower was ok, the room had a fridge which I used.

“The Worst, Horrible, not worth a dime!!!”

PICK A DIFFERENT MOTEL!!!! The room was dirty, the beds were smaller than advertised and my neighbors were having a party from Midnight to 4am. I called the front desk...no answer. The next morning the owner said "It's not my problem" This place is horrible. Pay $5 extra and go ANYWHERE else.

“Really great location and the staff were fantastic.”

Price was right, location was very good and all the staff were great. Only complaint was that there was no kettle for tea drinkers, of which I am one. Not everyone drinks coffee. There is a take away and bottle shop one block over and transport was very close.

Area recommendations
All of the placves I went to were awesome. Should have stayed longer. San Francisco is an amazing town.
Getting around
Make sure you get a Day Pass as it gives you 7 days of transport on the muni system which includes cable cars, trolley cars, buses and trains. It also gives you an hour cruise on the bay, access to the Aquarium at Fisherman's wharf, entry to the Exploratorium which is an interactive science place and a couple of other places that I have forgotten about.

“Would go back next time”

Hotel was well maintained, Bed clean and comfortable. Shower nice and hot with plenty of water pressure. Close to public transport . Laundromat 1/2 block away. Close to restaurants and take away. Don't get too excited about the included breakfast - It consists of mini muffins, juice and coffee or tea - but you do get fruit !!! One disadvantage is that there is no breakfast room so you need to take your tray back to your room. The hotel is nothing flash - but nor is the price. Free parking is a great advantage as San Franciisco parking is particularly expensive. A cab ride to Pier 39 costs a little over $10 (ex tips) and the owners are pleased to organize that for you. Owners are extremely helpful. We loved the whole U.S. trip

Area recommendations
We loved the trip to Alcatraz - the early bird cruise is the trick though - before the crowds. Sausalito was a great little day trip - we chose to drive so that we could go across the Golden Gate Bridge. Also don't miss the cable cars - it's not a trip to San Fran without travelling on this bit of history.
Traveller's tip
We had a rental car for our entire U.S. holiday but whilst in San Francisco itself it was much easier to leave the car at our hotel and use public transport. You can get BART tickets which cover rail, tram and bus for one day or multiple days which work out quite reasonable. When travelling further afield the rental car came in quite handy

“Good value”

The motel is in one of the decent areas of San Fran. You don't have as many homeless people as in other areas. The owners were very nice. We were assigned a room in the back (away from the street) and did not have any noise problems. Overall good value for the moderate price.

“Hotel not what the reveiws state - look elsewhere”

I picked this Hotel because the reviews looked good and for free parking. When checking in their was no where to park. The lot is also used by employees next door leaving very few spaces. The night was brisk and the rooms heater did not work. IT was cold and damp. But the worst part to of the stay was 3 cars were broken into - and one being my car. They windows were broken on all 3 cars and the office did not seem to care about our concerns. They did not have a shop vacuum or any thing to pick up the broken glass. All I would ask is better security and a little more sympathy for their guests.

Traveller's tip
Not a very secure parking lot. Three cars were broken into on July 24th 2009. And the office did not seem to care for it's guest.
