Gutes Business-Hotel im Zentrum

Posted 29-Apr-2015
Pros: Lage
Cons: Mehr ehrliche Bewertungen.

Great atmosphere and character!

Posted 29-Apr-2015
Pros: The lobby is beautiful. It has a unique style which lends to a great energy and feel. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
Cons: This can't really be improved, but the bathrooms are really small. If you are okay with this, then definitely stay here....it is worth it.
Location: Great shopping! When I booked this hotel, I had no I idea how great the location would be. We were surrounded by shops and could walk to Chinatown.
This is a wonderful place to stay. The location of the hotel is ideal and our experience was incredible. We just loved the energy and feel of the place. The room, a corner room, was beautiful; however, the bathroom was TINY! That was the only downside. Definitely will stay here again.

Dear shannon, Thank you! I'm so glad that you felt our great vibe! It's a combination of the 1928 historic building (went through a renovation in 2011) and our staff who loves to welcome our guests! Well, I'm happy that you will come back for another stay! Cheers, Jim Gross, General Manager

I visit San Francisco a few times a year and always stay at "the Drake". I like the size of the property and the location. Rooms are clean and stylish, a nice feeling of historic San Francisco and modern style.

Too Small

Posted 22-Apr-2015
Pros: The overall ambiance of the hotel was very nice and the location was great.
Location: The location right on the trollycar line and close to Union Square; everything from shopping to dining was within walking distance.
Our check in and check out was very smooth with no hassles or problems and while the overall ambiance of the hotel was very nice and the personnel were very nice the size of our room was shockingly small. There was just enough room for two people to navigate, but if you had any visitors (and we did) we had to meet them in the lobby because the size of the room would not accommodate them. The bathroom was also very small, you had to close the door to sit down and there was no space to put one's necessities. Overall the room was a major disappointment.

Dear Bob, I'm glad that your check-in/out process went smoothly as well as you liked our staff and ambiance. As for our rooms, please know that we have bigger rooms that are suitable for few adults; our front desk/reservation team are hear to answer all your questions about the room size. We hope that you'll choose to stay in our bigger rooms on your next visit! Thanks! Jim Gross, General Manager

Great location, very close to Union Square .

Posted 21-Apr-2015
Pros: restaurant
Cons: elevators are slow despite all 4 being operational.
Location: make sure you check out Neiman Marcus in Union Square. Huge shopping mall with movie theatre and some great quick food court options.
The hotel was in a perfect location for shopping and easily getting around San Francisco. The restaurant Scalia was fabulous. We ate there twice and had late night cocktails in the lobby bar as well. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. The trolley car system in San Francisco is definitely broken. It took us an hour to get a trolley from Fisherman's Warf on Sunday afternoon. There were 3 trolleys waiting in the station, but the workers were unwilling to keep the tourists happy and run the trolleys. They explained that they had to wait for change of shift so no overtime was paid. As a result they left many unhappy guests waiting to take a trolley. The same situation took place in Union Square where people lined up for an hour to get on the trolley.

Dear Guest, Thank you for your feedback! I couldn't be happier that you enjoyed your stay with us as well as Scala's restaurant. Our executive chef creates some wonderful dishes using fresh produce from the local farms. I am sorry to hear about the frustration you experienced regarding our Cable Car drivers and stations. Although, it is a must to ride our famous cable car on your first visit, this city is fairly walk-able (and get your exercise at the same time!) so bring a pair of sneakers next time! See you soon.
