Good place to stay by Union Square

Old hotel but well maintained, has "character". Comfortable beds, pleasant and helpful staff. Well located to explore the city-convenient to all public transportation. Eateries close by.

Staff was friendly, room was nice. I would have liked a small fridge in the room. Some homeless outside. :/

KING GEORGE, KING size bed

Posted 13-Oct-2014
Pros: location. two block to Union Square.
I requested extra pillow and extra towels before my arrival, but nothing. Then I called the front desk and housekeeping, but nothing. Our Valet Parking was supposed $35. We were charged $57. They corrected the charge, but no inconvenience. We requested a King size bed and for $300 a night it was very small. The bathroom is tiny and all the caulking are dirty. It needs some updating for sure. The carpet is a bit smelly. Our room supposed to get a good view. We had the view of another hotels window. There is no heating or air in the room so we open the door, but the noise of the outside generator is way to loud. We could not stand.

Nice hotel in a good location, close to Union Square. Lots of shops and restaurants nearby, in a walking distance to the China Town.

Great location

Posted 29-Sep-2014
Convenient location to Union Square, parking, restaurants......clean and quiet. Rooms are small, but who cares? We don't stay in SF for the hotel room - it is a place to sleep and shower - nothing more. Great breakfast restaurant next door, greatly convenient.

Decent basic place to stay

Posted 24-Sep-2014
Pros: Good price, relatively quiet. Staff was accommodating.
Cons: I felt like the room was in worn out condition.
Location: Union Square area, plenty of shopping, restaurants and touristy things nearby.
The hotel was clean and the staff was accommodating, but the overall condition of things was a bit worn out. The curtains in our room had a large rip in them, we weren't able to plug in our phone chargers without unplugging the clock and lamp on one side of the bed, and one of the windows didn't seem to close all the way. The furniture was very banged up and scratched. The room didn't have a chair, you had to sit on the bed. It was perfectly okay and clean if you are looking for a place to sleep at night, but if you are on the sort of trip where you may end up having to stay in your hotel room during waking hours, I would probably stay somewhere else.

Well located, but service for that price

Posted 21-Sep-2014
Well located. Bad experience booking by Expedia. Prices are higer on Expedia almost 20% than the rates the hotel has if you do it directly. The staff is rude, no vocation for service. They just do their duty. Rooms very small, internet is a nigthmare.

Reasonable value considering location.

Pros: Location, location.
Cons: -
Location: Great location for those interested in a shopping experience.
It is well located for anyone participating in the SF Marathon events. Reasonable value for a great location.
