Buon Hotel in ottima posizione

Soggiorno di 3 notti. Personale gentile, hotel non recente ma ben tenuto e pulito. Camera un po piccola ma confortevole e pulita. Posizione ottima per visitare SF. Colazione ok.

Good location. Near everything

Posted 27-Jul-2015
The hotel is very well located. There are restaurants, shops, public transportation and more, just in front of the hotel. My room was tiny, however it was not noisy at all (considering the location in a Main Street). The staff was amazing.

centrally located for a great SF visit

Pros: location
I booked at Stratford mainly due to the reasonable price, but the location is great too. Now the room itself is not very spacious. However, that's typical for an old hotel in a downtown area of a major city. Besides, if you're truly enjoying your visit to SF, you won't be in your room much other than for sleeping. So when you walk out of the hotel, not even a block to the right is Union Square, where you can rent bikes at Park Wide, which I highly recommend. SF is a very bike friendly city and seeing the city via a bike is incredible. Of course, there are also the trolley cars, which run along Powell St, which is right outside the door of the hotel. Pier 39 with all of its attractions is only about two miles away. And one more kicker is that it doesn't matter if you fly into Oakland or SF, you can easily get to the hotel via the BART; simply take the train to Powell St and from there you only have to walk a few blocks. It's much cheaper than a cab and probably Uber for that matter too. Finally, if you get to the hotel before your room is ready or check out before you have to leave town, the staff will gladly and securely watch your belongings. Overall, I def recommend Hotel Stratford to include as part of your great SF experience.

Location good, noisy street though

Posted 12-Jul-2015
Stratford is located downtown where there's lots of stores, restaurants, other hotels, and near bus/cable cars. It's not too bad as far as walking to china town, more of a hike gown to fishermans wharf, and ferry building and AT&T park. If I did it again I'd probably stay more in fishermans wharf area just cause I loved being near the bay. The street was very noisy both day/night and we had to keep the windows open to keep the room cool. We could have stayed somewhere nicer if we wanted to spend the cash but this wasn't bad for the price. It was clean and the staff was very nice and helpful. The free continental breakfast is a plus.

Location, location, location!

This was a great little hotel in the center of Union Square. So close to everything and if not, about a $10-15 cab ride away. You can try and take the trolley which is right outside the hotel, but we never had the patience for the line/wait. The staff was awesome! Laid back and helpful. Like other reviews of this hotel, there is NO air conditioner so it could be the perfect hotel for certain times of the year but miserable during hotter months. We got lucky with the temperature so it was never too hot. I found the rooms to be somewhat dingy. The bed was NOT comfortable, but did the job. All in all a solid 3.5.

UGGGGGGGGG. not good.

Pros: the location was in proximity to my conference at another hotel.
Cons: EVERYTHING.
Location: there are quick serve restaurants nearby.
The room looked like a sanitarium. The room was only 90sqft (if that). The furniture was worn. The continental breakfast consisted of dry cereal, bread, and cut up oranges. (Oh yea, coffee, tea, and jiuce.) My room key deactivated itself EVERY NIGHT. One night, I walked downstairs 4 times to get a new key until they finally sent a maintenance worker. But it still deactivated itself the next 2 nights. I ended up leaving early. It was worth the $200 flight change fee.
