Affordable hotel in Union Square & Market St

Posted 21-Apr-2015
Pros: Location
Cons: Plumbing and,purchase new linens.
Location: See above
You get what you pay for! I want to mention that we stayed at this hotel twice before (6 years ago) and had pleasurable experiencs. Great location, conveniently located minutes away from Union Square and Westfield shopping center. This time, however, the sheets were yellow and stained (so we slept on top of bedspread with our clothes on). It was almost midnight when we checked in, so we were too tired to complain and move our child. Also, the water pressure in shower consisted of 3 streams of water! The prices almost doubled over the years, yet we were willing to pay because of location. We were extremely disappointed in condition of our room.

No frills hotel in great location

Hotel Stratford was a perfect spot for my recent visit to San Fran. location and price were priorities for me, and we loved how the location felt safe and was convenient to shops and the cable cars and walking distance to some other neighborhoods. We did find the room with its two twin beds to be a little bit dorm like but we weren't in the room much and didn't need anything too fancy. I would've liked more breakfast options besides just cereal and coffee, but I guess you get what you pay for. I'd recommend this hotel overall.

Nice hotel, great location

Very central and convienant location. Easy to get to from BART or public transport. Room basic, no coffee making facilities and not much floor space BUT as its only to sleep in it was good enuf considering price. Suprised with free breakfast, basic but good enough....coffee,tea,juice,toast,muffins and cereals. Fruit option available. Staff very polite and helpful. Would deffo stay there again and recommend. We had an awesome time in San Fran

Very convenient as it is in the centre of Union Sq

Pros: The location and the complimentary breakfast
Cons: I think the design of the room could be improved.
Location: Very convenient to transport and restaurants.
Friendly staff and most helpful with suggestions for restaurants, where to catch the trolley bus and public transport. The room in which we stayed (2 pax) was so small, we had to step back to pass each other!! Also there was no basin (sink) in the bathroom, this was in the corridor of our room.

Great location, friendly staff, reasonably priced.

I couldn't afford anything else in the downtown SF area, so I was glad to find this- the location was extremely convenient. The building had a little normal wear and tear, and the unique elevator is so painfully slow that I took the stairs the whole time. It was clean. The continental breakfast was decent. I will definitely stay here again if they don't raise their prices. The room would be small if I weren't traveling alone, but it was just perfect for my needs.

Basic

Pros: location. cheap for San Fran
Cons: where do I start?
Location: right next to Union square. lots of shops, restaurants and trams
We found the price rather pleasing for San Fran but I guess you only get what you pay for. Plus points apart from Price is the location, right next to Union Square which is good and bad, as I have never seen so many homeless people in this area in my life, but the rooms are clean (except for one day when it didn't get cleaned for some reason) The room we had was rather basic, small, a little depressing, plus it has one of my pet hates, a wash basin in the room instead of the bathroom. Lift was so slow we used to laugh everytime we used it Room have no heating or air com, and the window barely opens, plus it opens onto another building so it barely gets any breeze, its fairly noisy too, you can hear the noise of the city quite easily, especially police cars etc To sum up, its cheap but its more like a hostel rather than a hotel in my eyes. If you are out all the time and you just want somewhere to sleep it may do the job, if you want somewhere to relax after a hard day sightseeing maybe pay the extra and go somewhere else.

Pros: Location, price
Cons: ,,
Location: Good location
Old hotel, good location and fair price for SF, but worn down. No parking place, not even for 10 minutes... Breakfast is ok.

Excellent location, located in downtown

Posted 10-Apr-2015
Outstanding. The reception service is amazing. Residents will not get any problem while talking with the front-line staff. The location is outstanding too: 30 seconds to two good fast-food restaurants (pizza and burger house), 1 min to wargreen, 1 min to union square and so forth. The only problems are: no AC at the room, and standard single-bed at the room. Not gd for big guys and AC-lovers.
