“Excellent Experience”
Amenities From the time the shuttle dropped me at the hotel to the time it picked me up again 4 days later I felt like I was at home. The staff were friendly and always helpful. My room was perfectly clean, modern and the bed and bathroom facilities were excellent. Location The most important aspect for me though was the location - perfectly located adjacent to the Market st and Union Square shopping area, yet still completely quiet. I didn't hear any sirens or street noise at all. There are several trolley car station in Market St providing cheap transport down to the bay. Activities I caught a trolley car down to the wharf where I rented a bicycle and rode across the Golden Gate bridge to Sausalito and Tiburon, then caught the ferry back to the wharf. Great day out. I also visited Alcatraz (via trolley car from the hotel) and Yosemite NP - picked up from the hotel. Highly recommended. I will definitely stay here again when in San Francisco.
“excellent choice”
The Palomar is an excellent hotel in an extremely convenient location. we arrived by plane and could easily move our big suitcases to the hotel via the BART. All staffs at the hotel were helpful and friendly. The wine reception in the evening was really nice and we found the hotel host to be interesting and enjoyable to have a chat with. The level 5 area was very relaxing. Liked the coffee and tea availability on level 5 in the morning and the all day water on the ground floor. Great touch. Having tea and coffee available later in the evening would be a great addition. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to anyone looking to stay in downtown SF.
“Modernity with cleanliness”
Very fun hotel with wine happy hour every afternoon, a goldfish in your room to keep you company and a bottle of wine to keep you warm. Lovely stay, with clean linens and a great location next to the Moscone Convention Center and a swank little mall. A little seedier a few blocks down once night falls, but just be a wary traveler. Delicious food (San Franciscan perk, really) and fun stores all around. The room was so comfortable and cozy that we opted to stay in for the evening and stay warm instead of walking too much outside. Bathroom is small and modest, but the banging shower head makes up for everything. No coffee maker in your room, but just go to the fifth floor lobby and you'll have a great cup to start your day.
“How sad: the doorman”
When we arrived at the hotel, the doorman wished to know whether we required help with our baggage. This was a sure request for a tip if he so much as touched the bags. Had he been better trained or supervised, he would have offered to take the bags out of the cab, or reached for them with a comment such as: "Let me help". Needless to say, I handled the bags myself, and he received not itp. Hotel was excellent other than this individual, who appeared to engage in conversation on other occassions rather than attending the door.
“Excellent location, small rooms/bath, robes but no slippers, but happy hour, coffee & business cente”
Excellent locale around the corner from BART to go to Berkeley, and from the cable car that takes you down to Fisherman's Wharf. ALso right across the street from the Apple store and around the corner from a shopping mall. ROoms are small, not as nice as the LA Palomar, but service was excellent, better than LA Palomar. Wine happy hour everyday at 5 was a pleasure, and there was always free coffee at same spot in the morning. Cool leopard and zebra bathrobes, but no slippers: ( Very helpful and friendly front desk staff and bellboys. GIve yourself 10 extra minutes to find a cab. Lunch at the Grove up MIssion in the safe direction.
“Comfort Plus”
Great location with excellent comfort. Friendly staff. Definitely recommended.
“Not bad”
Nice hotel. However the AC didn’t have an automatic mode for controlling the temperature and air flow, so I had to turn it off after awhile since it was quite noisy.
“Perfect location for a perfect night!”
My wife and I stayed here for a night to see the city. This hotel is wonderful, in a great area near everything, and the staff was amazing. We unfortunately had to switch to a different hotel because of my wife's work meeting she had to attend but if we ever come back to San Francisco we will definitely stay here again. It was quiet and very comfortable and you can walk to anything in the city. The BART station was right outside the door, so it was very easy traveling from the airport. I cannot say anything bad about this hotel. It is well worth the money and not much more expensive than other hotels. We absolutely loved it.
“Not a bad hotel”
Clean, pretty close to union square. I'd stay there again.
“Outstanding hotel!”
We were extremely pleased with our stay at the Palomar. It's in a great location for sightseeing and going out in San Francisco, and it was an easy to walk to stores and restaurants. There is a BART stop right around the corner as well. The room was clean and modern, and the bed was one of the most comfortable I've ever slept on! We liked the extras, like cucumber water in the lobby, free newspapers and the lounge on the 5th floor. I also used the fitness room, which has nice equipment, towels and a cold water dispenser. This hotel will be our first choice if we vacation in SF again.
