“So-So”
Staff was friendly, but AC didn't work in room and phone didn't work as well. Was only there for a few hours and then for sleeping. Pretty basic hotel; nothing special.
“Great hotel”
Get a room with a Japanese tub -- it's worth it!! Wonderful service and great location for events at the Fillmore. Easy parking and self-park is reasonable.
“Needs a refresh/renovation.”
Clean, quiet, great location, but needs a refresh. Feels old, nothing too bad though.
“oo la la”
excellent choice
“Adjacent to Japan Town”
Obviously updated nicely themed older hotel. One open outlet other than bathroom, awkward bathroom layout. Beautiful shoji screens and geisha/warrior painted screens. Really convenient location with inexpensive, underground parking (didn't realize that was possible in San Francisco).
“Fantastic for us!! Perfect location, close to everything! Clean and comfortable!”
My new husband and I had a wonderful time at Hotel Kabuki!!! We were there for our honeymoon and to see the Rip Curl surf contest in Ocean Beach. The hotel is located perfectly in between the beach and all the attractions of the city!! Parking was easy, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We used the gym facilities everyday. Our room was clean. And the restaurants in the the mall connected came in very handy when we didnt want to leave the parking garage later at night. We will for sure go back!!!
“japantown is a great location for city manuvering.”
Terrific hotel overall. The staff has always been very helpful. The location is centrally located in the city. As a single woman traveling, I feel very comfortable in Japantown. I will stay hear again. Oh if your not use to Japanese style bathrooms, ask the desk persons how to work the shower and bath controls.
“Good hotel”
Hotel was nice and staff was helpful. The only fault we had is there is no room service or place to get food on Monday and Tuesday. There is no parking at the hotel but the attached city garage is convenient and is cheaper than most hotels in the city.
“Great hotel in Japantown”
We stayed at Hotel Kabuki for 2 nights only. The room was very bright and spacious with a separate bedroom to the lounge area. The room even had it's own sauna! It's situated right in the middle of Japan town near the malls. There are some promising Japanese resturants in the area which we didn't get the chance to try out on our short stay. The area is very safe compared to a lof ot San Francisco. Public transport was a bit hard to use but if you bring a good pair of walking shoes and feel like a brisk walk, you can walk to some locations. We walked to Grace Catherdral and then Chinatown right after we checked in! We had access to a car and Filmore street was a short drive (if not walk) with great boutiques and cafes. Overall we had a great time in SF and Hotel Kabuki!
“Cute, Comfortable”
It's a cute place, and it's very comfortable. We spent 2 wonderful nights there.
