The place is really great. Only issue is the loud music and poeple that are staying up all night every night. If that doesn't bother your, bring earplugs for a good night of sleep. It's close to everything so it's easy to go everywhere. Staff is super nice.

Overall its a wonderful hotel for the price. I enjoyed it thoroughly. Unfortunately the main problem is not in their control and thats the places around them. Furst night some drunk person set off fireworks and they launched right in the air near my window before going off. Scared the crap out of me. Other than the noise at night is a beautoful hotel.

Overall, the stay was amazing. The staff do a great job of making guests feel wonderful. They are helpful when there is something that needs attention, and do their best to alleviate the issue. There was a minor issue with something needing cleaning in my room and the staff dealt with it very well. Unfortunately the area around the hotel is a bit noisy, so plan to bring noise cancelling headphones/play white noise for easier sleep at night. Jonah was a particularly great staff member who was welcoming, friendly, and great to chat with. I would definitely stay here again! Some minor amenities were slightly lacking (no bowls when we requested it), but I understand this hotel is under new management who are doing their best. The vibe of the staff was incredible. I would recommend this hotel as a nice, more affordable alternative to the Hilton, Hyatt, etc, while still being quite central and close. The decor is also quite stylish and interesting.

Where to start. There was no real hot water in my shower which I reported to front desk and never got an answer on. Continued to take mildly cold showers during my stay. The street noise is unbelievable loud. Hotel provides ear plugs in all the rooms, but they're no match for what's going on outside all night long. I hung the "please clean" tag on my door and when I returned later my room was not cleaned.

Property was nice and clean and very stylish. This property is close to everything. The immediate surroundings are a bit live. The hotel is clean and well managed. The rooms are a bit small, but nonetheless clean.

The Bijou hotel is quaint and extremely clean with excellent comphy beds and 24 hour locked front door. Breakfast was a yogurt, a small googy muffin and an apple with tea and coffee; so not really a continental breakfast as advertised. The hotel is just at the beginning of the famous Tenderloin district which has many homeless and some drug dealers, but they did not bother us at all; although after walking all day, we dont' usually go out after dinner. So can't say for the evenings what the area is like. They do blast music every evening but the hotel does provide air plugs and works diligently to keep the area around the hotel clean. There are also free large storage lockers for luggage in the lobby; skiis have to be stored in the back room of the hotel as the lockers are not tall enough. The onsite restaurant is not operational but there are plenty of places to eat at the mall or just up the hill along with shopping which is only 2 blocks away, including Trader Joes Grocery Store- 3 blocks away. The rooms do not have a fridge, microwave or AC but does have a coffee maker, but you have to go to the lobby to get tea or coffee. Ask for 3rd floor or higher; some rooms on the 2nd flr are overlooking a roof with pipes - not a great view. The staff were amazing, very helpful and extremely welcoming and friendly, especially Chris. If you are streetwise and looking for a very clean budget friendly hotel, I would recommend this hotel; they are trying and could use the support.

This is my 3rd time staying at the Bijou & I have a great experience every time. One of my main concerns with staying in hotels in San Francisco is safety & I always feel safe at this hotel. It's location to the bart station is incredibly convenient & there's so many different restaurants to eat at in walking distance. The staff is always so friendly & helpful as well as extremely personable, & the hotel itself is so beautiful & clean. They're doing a really great job & I highly recommend this hotel for anyone traveling into the city.

This Hotel is a gem! Such a nice, cozy vibe going on inside and the staff is some of the sweetest people ever, they were so attentive and personable. The room was clean and spacious, the bed was very comfy and the wifi was fast. The lighting was a bit low & I think one was out but I didn't mind. Only downside is the area, gross and scary. I'd still stay again anyway, because the service & vibe was that good !

Manager Blanca and Reception Chris as well as helping ladies were awesome on the frontdesk. Room is clean, amenities, fine! heating could be improved but they help you with this. Sink water pressure was low but the shower was awesome ! There was a safe in the room (iron, fan, blow dryer, toiletries 👍 one block to shopping centre , despite the street misery right around the building. Still very convenient location, nice breakfast (warm with Jesus's scrambled eggs 😁) I strongly recommend this place 🌷

Read all the bad reviews and stay away!!!
One of the worst hotel I ever stayed in my 20 years of traveling the globe. When I checked in at 18:00 the young man who works there at the reception was not greeting and welcome me to the hotel, he barely spoke to me entire time I was checking in. He didn’t leave his seat or stand up to check me in. Fine maybe he was tired but he have no business being there at the reception. After I checked in my room, the room was big enough but the bed looked like someone already sleeping there before me. The safe in the room is not working, and the sound from the street is keeping me up all night. Homeless is everywhere and the front of the entrance of the hotel is very dirty and disgusting. For three nights that I was there no one cleaning my room and no one come to empty the bin. I even put up the sign that need a maid service, no one came. From all four employees who work there that I met only a nice gentleman who greeted me in the morning and make me feel like a guest of the hotel. Please believe all the bad reviews you are reading about this so call “hotel” do yourself a favour and stay away from this hotel. You will not feel safe, or feel welcome to this hotel. I had traveled the globe and stayed in hundreds of hotels in 50 cities around the world. This is one of the top worst 3 hotels I will never ever forgot how bad it was to stayed in this hotel.

I was at the Bijou for 5 nights while at a trade show/conf at the Moscone. The staff were incredible - Blanca, Chris, Jesus and everyone else. It was my home away from home. The room was large and super clean. Hot coffee in the lobby 24/7 and a tasty b'fast at 7:00 - make sure you try Jesus' amped up scrambled eggs! And ride the brand new and super stylish elevator!

This is a low price hotel in SF and had many pros and cons. I personally would stay here again but some would not. Pros: location is very convenient to BART, downtown. Price is great. The room is very clean, beds comfortable and bathroom was small but updated. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Cons: the area is a typical downtown location. There is lots of noise, homeless and people in the area but that’s just SF. The elevator was broken and seems it has been for a long time, the housekeeping leaves bags of laundry all over the halls blocking the walkway which was annoying. The rooms do not have AC and also the window only opens a few inches so is very stuffy. The room is small consistent with old buildings. Overall could be a great place to stay for someone looking to get a good location for exploring for a great price but not someone who is expecting luxury.

The elevator was broken, and they put me in the 6th floor. The share areas are very dirty and I think due to the broken elevator they don’t vacuum the stairs rug. However the room was great, very clean and confort, bed and linen were great.

The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Except when I mentioned the elevator being out. I think it must be very frustrating for them too. They informed me Expedia should have informed me there was no elevator. I went back to my email confirmation and nope. Couldn't find anywhere. Lucky I can still walk up and downstairs but it would have been another story if I was disabled. For the price it's what you would expect. But that elevator situation should be addressed. I see reviews from five months ago complaining. They are not fixing it, not really disclosing it properly and not discounting the cost to stay there because of the gross inconvenience. It's a shame. I will not stay there again. Repeat business and refers are so crucial I think. Fix your elevator!!

Daer Guest, the hotel does disclose that we have no elevator it is not featured that we have one. This is disclosed in the accessibility featured. When guest book they get a letter from the booking sites that reconfirms our elevator is currently out of service due to a renovation. I am sorry if this was missed. We are getting a new one installed. Thank you for having stayed I do apologize for the inconvenience; I am happy to hear that the staff was friendly and accommodating.

Expedia should be embarrassed to promote this property. Elevator broke for the last year. They lie and say it’s being remodeled. Had to walk up 6 flights of stairs with luggage. Homeless camping at front door. No air conditioning. Truly a dump. And falsely advertised

I am sorry about the homeless camping going on but that is a San Francisco issue not a hotel issue, we do not have control over this, we do our best to curb it. I am sorry that you had to walk up 6 flights, but we do inform guests on the letter upon booking. as well as we sent a reminder about this the day of.
