Expensive

Posted 16-Dec-2014
Pros: location
Cons: management of power outage situation skills improved
Location: Perfect location for union square on foot.
Not a typical experience as there was unusual storm in area and power out for several hours in the morning. Most disappointing fact was that there was no effort to provide coffee to hotel guests in the lobby. It is an expensive hotel but is located nicely for union square activities. I did feel that with auxilliary power it would have been easy enough to plug in a few coffee pots and get some coffee going. There was no offer to reduce the price of the room or offer another night stay at a different time.

Pity about us oldies

Posted 15-Dec-2014
Pros: Location
Cons: Access to annexed building
This Hotel is in a prime location adjacent to Union Square it has an excellent restaurant attached and service is informative and timely. The hotel comprises two buildings and our room was in the annexed portion which is joined by a flight of stairs from the lobby area of the main building to the annexed wing where our room was situated. There is no passenger lift between the two. My wife and I are both approaching 70 and neither of us have full mobility. Fortunately we located an open sided service lift in which my wife became very proficient as a lift driver. Better screening of clients on booking in could have prevented our discomfort.

The guys running the garage were exceptionally helpful. They met all our needs and even helped us get out during the protesting.

Great location.

Pros: Location.
Very good location but not nearly as nice as the price would lead you to expect. Small room, very dated. Rusty junction box in the bathroom. Just enough room to turn around. Quality of an older facility at Four Season's prices. We will not be back at this price.

Nice enough for the price and location. Hospital smell throughout hotel is my only negative comment.

Overall it's a great place if you are near Union Square. My rate was good for the area. My room was a bit small and the bed wasn't super.

Friendly hotel very close to Union Square

Posted 06-Dec-2014
Pros: Convenience to Union Square.friendly staff.
Cons: Stronger coffee in the room and more creamers.
Location: Great shopping and restaurants nearby
Staff very helpful and pleasant and dealt with our noisy neighbors in a timely and efficient manor when it was brought to their attention. Room was comfortable though bathroom on the small side but to be expected from an older property.

Great location and value.

Pros: Location and value.
Cons: Nothing. It's an ordinary property, but totally comfortable.
Location: Union Square shopping, nightlife, dining. Access to public transport and cable cars to everywhere else you'd want to visit.
There's no distinguishing or memorable feature about this property, but that's fine, it just is a reliable property where you will have comfortable stay. Perfect location adjacent to Union Square. For an older property it is very well maintained, and the rooms are larger than average, and have all the standard amenities. It seems 2 building are combined to make this property, and I think I stayed in the older structure, whereas the newer structure did have the appearance of being more up-to-date. Again, standard comfort, standard decor, larger than average rooms, all the usual services and amenities...it's just a safe pick, and good value too.
