Fantastic location if you are.looking to be in the heart of the tourist destination. Hotel is close to the cable cars and all transit lines (BART, MUNI). Heated pool located on site. Attentive hotel staff. Property is a little dated however rooms are incredibly clean. We stayed in a premium king room, very spacious and had a patio. Guest rooms have a mini fridge, coffee maker, safe and use of bathrobes. As it is a downtown property, can get noisy. There is homelessness in the area, however did not experience any type of aggressive panhandling or felt unsafe. If we return to San Francisco, will likely stay again at this property.

Everything was really good overall, the hotel is just older and it feels that way when you're inside. Room was a little warm overall for sleep but opening the sliding doors cooled it down quickly. Could help if they included screens.

Once grand hotel and still pretty good. Near the downtown center of Union Square, but also blocks away from open drug use and squalid homelessness. San Francisco needs to get its act together or risk losing tourism altogether.

Staff were wonderful. Hotel in great location. We had an upgraded room. Unfortunately the bathroom was not renovated. The room was clean and nice. The beds were hard. Overall had a very good experience and would stay again.

This was a very cool hotel. Definitely a heritage building, but the room was quiet and cozy. The only downside was the parking. It, like in typical San Francisco fashion, was very expensive. If you can avoid a vehicle, you will save a good chunk of change.

Easy check in process. Basic clean hotel room. No frills. Great location being right there in Union Square. We street park to avoid overnight parking charges. Second time staying there for convenience and price and would probably stay there again.

The location is good for shopping and proximity to other areas however, it is quite drab and not well-kept around the streets. Property itself is in significant need of a facelift, nonetheless clean and comfortable.
