“Good Location but not impressed....”
You'll love the location and the Chic designed rooms, but keep in mind that this is just like many other hotels in the downtown area an old building. You'll hear lots of noise from the streets and the sewer/water pipes. Also, if you happen to be there during a cold day, Good luck! you'll get an individual heater since most of the hotel still runs on the old steamer heating system.
“Nice, modern look in a classic building”
The staff here is awesome. Very friendly and helpful. The hotel is in an awesome location close to just about everything you need. China town is a 10 min walk and city center is about the same. You will have to take the trolly to get to pier 39, unless you like walking. Close to all forms of transportation and a short walk to the BART. The only con I have is regarding the lack of central heat. The hotel was a bit chilly for November and we had to wait for them to turn the boiler on to warm up our room. But- we were given a nice cozy space heater when asked :)
“I would return to the Galleria Park Hotel”
I typically prefer to stay in larger, brand name hotels such as the Hyatt. In this case, the GPH had a much better rate during Thanksgiving week and was conveniently located in the center of the city. I enjoyed staying close to the main shopping area, close to Union Square and in between other major attractions. The staff was extremely knowledgeable and informative. Very accommodating to me and my family, including small children. The room was great. On the small side, but mostly updated. Looking closely, you could tell that it is an older building that has been remodeled. Aside from minor nits, like wallpaper rough around the edges, no criticims of the room. The room was very clean and well cared for by maid service. The fitness room was not impressive, but the 3rd floor walkway is a nice add. A serious runner is better off on the streets or taking a ride to Persidio or Golden Gate Parks. In summary, I would return to this hotel based mainly on rates, location and staff.
“Chic, friendly staff, but not the best beds”
Staff was super friendly. They have a free wine hour in the evening, where you can sit next to their fire place and socialize with the other guests. We walked from the Embarcadero, to the hotel, then went out in Union Square - walking the whole time, it was perfect. Only downside was the beds were a bit uncomfortable, not very firm. And, we were woken up by construction at 6am on a Sunday - but it wasn't theirs, so no blame just funny.
“Loved San Fran”
The Hotel staff were fantastic, very friendly and helpful. The room was nice and very comfortable, and an awesome location right in the heart of down town.
“Nice hotel, accessible to everything”
I was in San Frnacisco for a conference and I booked this hotel after all the meeting hotels were full. It is around 10-15 min walk to the Moscone Centre and if you have to be there early then if can be long. Also, if you would like to come back during the day to change or leave your things. In hind sight, if I am in the city for a conference I would have gottern something closer. Apart from that, the hotel is self is excellent, the staff is very helpful and it is in good location within walking distance to a lot of things. The rooms are clean, well kept and the service is excellent. It is a small hotel so do not expect the luxuries of some of the big chains but you do get much more personalized service. There was free coffee in the morning and wine in the afternoon but I never tried them. It also had free wireless internet that you can use on multiple devices (Laptop, iPhone or iPad). Overall, I woud definitelyr recommend this hotel.
“Very nice place to stay”
Right in the middle of the financial district .This historic hotel is clean and roomey. There was a tour of historic building that began right in the lobby.
“Very Chic. Would like to go back.”
I had a very good time in the chic hotel. the little food stuff that were in the room was pricey (like all the other hotels). Good wall paintings. nice atmosphere. Perhaps a bit small, but considering the location, it was great!
“Location is fantastic!”
We were very happy with this hotel from the perspective of its price and location. The restaurant was good fun too.
“Very good value, friendly and helpful staff and a good location downtown. We would visit again.”
We found the overall experience at the Galleria to be very good and would return again when we visit San Francisco. It was excellent value, the staff were friendly and helpful and the location is central to the downtown area with transit readily accessible. Good pick!
