“Brilliant hotel”

this was the best hotel we've ever stayed in. The facilities and service were outstanding. I've never been so sad to leave a hotel before! The rooms were beautifully appointed with spacious rooms and every appliance we could possibly need included. Our two bedroom fireplace apartment exceeded our expectations. It had evything you could want and more. We loved looking over the bay to Alcatraz island on the terrace with the fire pits. The position in the famous square so neer to the hyde street cable cars and the Fisherman's Wharf area was convenient and ideal for a holiday. The staff delivered the best service we've ever experienced. Friendly, accommodating and professional. I look forward to the next time I can visit San Francisco so I can stay here again. Perfect in every way!

“Fantastic hotel and service would thoroughly recommend”

After a long flight we were warmly welcomed by the concierge and given an oreintation tour of the hotel and apartment. We received an upgrade to a two bedroomed aprtment which was wonderful and had everything we needed. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and the use of the free DVD library and courtesy car was much appreciated. Complimentary continental breakfast was a great start to the day. Fantastic hotel would thoroughly recommend to others and would certainly visit again.

Area recommendations
Fishermans Wharf - variety of restaurants and attractions that would appeal to all.
Getting around
The tour buses are a great way to get to see all the places of interest and the guides have a wealth of information! Great for hopping on and off at your leisure. make sure you book the Alcartaz trip in advance as it was sold out.

“This is a wonderful hotel.”

We stayed here while visiting friends in San Francisco and celebrating our 2nd wedding anniversary. This place was just perfect. It was modern, yet romantic. The staff was great. I never wanted to leave.

“WONDERFUL PLACE TO STAY!!!”

The ONLY issue I had with the hotel was the comfort of the bed--I like a firm mattress. My husband slept fine, however, and the staff truly did try to work this out for me but the place was booked solid. We felt very special and well treated--we booked a one bedroom and was upgraded (without request!) to a two-bedroom. It was fabulous for us with our grown son, he ended up with his own room and bath. My daughter came to visit the day after we checked out (we had a very late flight) and for what she paid for a very mundane and run of the mill room, we feel that our deluxe apartment--RIGHT IN GHIRARDELLI SQUARE!!!-- was a bargain. I highly recommend this for ANYONE who wants relaxing stay in SF.

Area recommendations
We really enjoyed the Wharf area--much lovelier and more exciting than we thought. And I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND taking one of the City Segway Tours--we saw more this way than on a bus or any other tour. There are two companies and we enjoyed our tours with both AND they are very close to the hotel.
Getting around
As I mentioned, the SEGWAY tour was the best ever!! Can't take small children but teenages LOVE it and our son (21) thought this was the best way to see the city ever! I have been to SF several times since the 1970's and this was BY FAR the best Hotel stay and tour I have ever had.

“Best hotel and great location!!!”

The service was outstanding. They were there to help with anything you need. Location can't get any better with only a couple minute walk to the trolley and pier. The beds were outstanding. Would definitely stay there again. To me, it was worth the price.

“great place!”

Stayed three nights in a bayview residence. The staff were all extremely friendly and service was great. Superb free continental breakfast. We were surprised that our one bedroom residence had an additional bedroom with two twins and a bathroom. Nice to have a washer/dryer. Everything was within walking distance and the view of Alcatraz from our room was amazing.

“Some housekeeping problems”

It is a very convenient hotel with great service. In two occasions housekeeping was a little distracted: they didn't empty the trash (diapers included) and they didn't change the crib sheet that had a big milk accident. I removed it to indicate it needed changing, and they just put it back. Everything else was great.

“100 % recommendable.”

I was really impressed with this hotel, with its comfortable modern loft rooms. We fit six people comfortably in the loft which had two rooms with a bathroom for each and a nice kitchen with all the appliances. Excellent location, downtown San Francisco but just in front of the Sea and by the charming and tranquil Ghirardelli Square. We were really lucky to chose this place for our vacation in SF.

Area recommendations
Ghirardelli Square, nice, tranquil area. Sausalito, beautiful small town by the sea. Chinatown very picturesque. Pier 39 very entertaining for its shops, restaurants and the sealions.
Shopping
Go to the Levi´s Store, the largest in USA. Shop for souvenirs in China Town. Browse Pier 39 for more sourvenirs.

“Wonderful SF Hotel”

Loved this hotel! Our "room" was a two bedroom unit complete with kitchen, dining area and an upstairs bedroom. We even had a working gas fireplace and a gorgeous view of the bay. The kids loved walking to the Ghirardelli cafe for a hot fudge sundae. So special!

“Mixed Feelings”

I loved the location of the Fairmont - right in Ghiradelli square! There were two lovely gas firepits on the 2nd floor, and standing up on those balcony's, we had a fantastic view of the square with the quirky little shops. The atmosphere in comfortable, and the staff seemed to go out of their way to be helpful. The apartment was very spacious and really well laid out, with a long wooden dining tables, and a kitchen that included a wine chiller! For the prices I was disappointed with the cleanliness of the room. There were potato chips mashed into the all on top of the couch, and the bathroom wallpaper was stained and splattered. The door between the bathroom and the bedroom was a sliding type, and continually rolled open. On the positive side, the staff responded promptly to housekeeping calls, and the shower was massive and marble - perfect for long steams. Turndown service included water/glasses, and chocolates on the pillows (Ghiradelli of course!). I would definitely stay again, but I'd look for a more reasonable price.

Area recommendations
Fisherman's Wharf is a great tourist area (sea lions, fresh fish, the aquarium, etc.)
