“Average hotel”

Agerage hotel in a good location. Helpful staff at the hotel / reception. The location of the hotel is on a busy main road, so expect plenty of outside noise. Good value for money! The Pastries for breakfast were fresh and a good start, including orange juice and coffee.

“Clean enough but really needs an update”

Not a "bad" hotel but really not that nice either. It was as clean as it could be but the furniture was shabby, the pillows tired and the whole place in need of a serious update.

“Great overall”

The hotel is about a 15minute walk from fishermans wharf and either a short bus ride or a 30minute walk to union square. The complimentary continental breakfast each morning was great with a wide variety, and the free high speed wi fi was good to have. Overall staff very helpful, hotel was clean and surrounding area had plenty of restaurants within walking distance. Would stay here again.

Area recommendations

Pier 39 is always a master and really only a 20minut walk from the hotel. Also the crookedest part of Lombard street is within walking distance if you don't mind walking up hills. Most of San Francisco is very hilly and steep.

“Very good choice”

We were very pleased with Buena Vista Motel for our stay in San francisco. Sightseeing bus stopped at the door, good restaurants in easy walking distances. We had a big room overlooking the neighborhood which was very pleasant. Better than we expected for what we paid.

“Wouldn't recommend anyone”

The shower didn't work before my husband needed to go for a Job Interview. We tried to make it work, never happened. The rooms are nice but for people who are from small or quite towns don't recommend at all. Too noisy the streets, the hotel have just 3 floors, I would say that is why.

“OK for the price”

We found it difficult to find reasonably priced hotels with a separate bedroom in SF. This met our requirements (and you get what you pay for) and it was only for two nights. However it is on a busy street and therefore noisy. An element of the service that disappointed us was being GUARANTEED our room would be ready at 3pm only to have to wait until well after 4pm (with travel weary children) for it to be finally ready. The included breakfast was appreciated.
