Beresford Hotel offer 114 individually furnished guestrooms distributed on 7 floors. Each guestroom features Victorian décor with modern amenities such as cable TVs, VCRs, clock radios, and dial-up Internet (surcharge). All guestrooms at this San Francesco hotel also provide minibars, refrigerators, and iron/ironing boards. Bathrooms include shower/tub combination and complimentary toiletries. “Stop your looking and start your booking!”
Great hotel, convenient location. Have noticed some reviews citing quaint and old fashioned!!!! I guess; but it has a lot of charm and is well looked after. Might be issues if you have a vehicle but is in a primo location just by O'Farrell for renting cars. There is also the home of those yellow doodle bug things people drive around in and a bicycle hire place near the pine crest diner* Your not going to get much of a view but SF is out there to explore. The White Horse pub is terrific value. The Beer there is half the price of most other places and they do free hot dogs until 9pm every night for bargain hunters or to take that hungry edge off. *The breakfast is pretty negligible but we can recommend the Pinecrest diner just around the corner. The locals all eat there.. so nuff said.
“Love San Fran”
Hotel Beresford is in a great spot for all the atractions of Union Square and also for picking up public transport to all other attractions. Our room was on the 7th floor, not much of a view from the window, but we weren't there to spend time in a hotel room! Twin bedded room, not huge, but defintely not the smallest city hotel room I've ever stayed in. Contrary to previous reports we found the reception staff helpful, when we arrived at about 8 pm the man on reception gave up a map and explained what was in the local area. Breakfast provided in the hotel, but this does get a bit repetative after a few days
“Did the job”
Although the hotel looks quite dated my room was comfortable and very clean. The conplimentary breakfast wasn't brilliant quality but there are enough places nearby to get good food. Location was good, just away from Union Square and shops.
“good value hotel”
located near everything. room was on the small side but adequate. might be a problem in warm weather but nice in the spring.
“.cosy but lacking essentials”
after a 13 hour flight all we wanted was a cup of tea but the hotel didnt have a kettle in the room we were told by the unhelpful man on the desk to go down the road to get one. the room itself was quite small but practical it was old clean the headboard on the bed was noisey so we stuffed pillows behind it. there was no hairdryer or kettle but a mini bar and an iron!!!!! the maid was excellent our room was always clean and tidy. the hotel situation was excellent 2 blocks away from the trams and busses breakfast could have been better danish fruit 2 cereals tea and coffee but it was eatable. the surrounding area was lovely only minutes away from the shops and the trams. we visited everywhere and public transport was easy to use
