“Very cool”
The hotel looked very modern and different then others. It also is located in a neat area of San Diego and walking to cool strips for shopping, convention center and pubs is close and interesting.
“Too many high-cost extras”
The hotel is downtown, there is no entry area other than the public sidewalk and curb. Valet parking is optional, and expensive. Service was very good, but there was a box of highly overpriced snacks/bottled water. Plenty of towels, etc. but the marble shower was slippery, and no anti skid mat.
“loved it”
Very friendly staff. Right downtown.
“The W is aWesome!!!”
This was a great choice. I was there for 5 days over Halloween weekend and spilling into the first part of the week. The service was outstanding. The rooms were very nice and clean, the room service was very good, the front desk and other staff that I interacted with all knew my last name and were very friendly, but there is one outstanding area of this hotel. The Valet! Beyond the best group of folks that has ever handled me on business travel for over 30 years. They were there with a bottled water, friendly face, quick to get my car, and always asked if I needed directions or recommendations! These guys went way beyond my expectations! Excellent Job!
“wish for more”
I expect to be charged for parking when i stay in any downtown hotel. But the deal breaker for me is when this nice of a hotel ( and it is very nice ) wants to charge $15 a day for wireless internet service. Even the last Best Western we stay at offered free wireless service. And we had a little run in with the valet service on Saturday night. once again, this nice of a hotel and the valet manager is giving me a lecture on a Saturday night. Not impressed with her service at all. I will not stay here again....W for wish, wish I had a better experience.
“Terrible”
Loud and services not as friendly as you would expect from a place that tries really hard to be cool. There was a pool party until 4:30 am and extremely loud. The pool is the size of a tub. Check in was an unfriendly experience. The rice krispie treats were nice.
“Loved it!”
Modern, clean, cool gadgets and ammenities. We really enjoyed our stay and the service was fantastic! Definitely going back.
“Nice hotel. Staff is very attentive”
Rooms are a little tight, but overall this is a high quality hotel with a great staff.
“Great location & even better service!”
Very nice, clean, comfortable hotel. Good location, within walking distance to many great restaurants & shops. Hotel staff were ALL friendly. Hotel valet was a bit pricey but the rice crispy treats they offered in the lobby made up for it! Nice touch!
“Great hotel/location”
We really enjoyed our stay at W San Diego. The staff was friendly and helpful, the hotel very clean. We had 2 needs arise during our stay which the staff responded to quickly and professionally. Our location was fantastic for walking the city, and the brew pub around the corner is a real gem. The only complaint was the cost of drinks at Beach... a bit pricey, even for a hotel bar.
