“AMAZING service!”

This was by far the BEST hotel experience I've ever had in ANY country. The staff was incredible - words cannot describe. While standing in line to check out for approximately 3.9 seconds, someone had come over to apologize for the wait and asked if we'd like some water bottles while waiting!! Any time we used our vehicle, the valet attendants were the most curteous, offering us directions or parking tips as to where we were headed, as well as water bottles for the road! This was impressive as every other hotel charges $5/bottle! The concierge, specifically Lee Ann, was the most knowledgeable and helpful person we met! She gave us great tips on what restaurants we should try based on what kind of food we were looking for. She knew every single type of food being served in Gaslamp Quarter!! She offered us ideas on what were "must-see"'s while we were visiting and took our budget into consideration. Absolutely amazing concierge! One night we had leftovers and needed to squeeze them into the mini fridge, but they offered to send up a fridge! Free of charge! That little extra step makes the biggest difference.

“A great pick”

This building is very old but has a nice historic feeling to it and is very well maintained. The room was clean, the staff was friendly, and it's in a great location. Absolutely no complaints!

“Experience of US Grant”

This a good hotel as you would expect from 5 star although registration desk is a bit slow and you have to pay for wifi on top of your bill. This suroprsung because cheaper hotels have it free! altough i have indicated good for all I think probably not quite ideal for families with young children

“great service, great location, fantastic hotel.”

Travelling for 3 weeks through north and south California,The US Grant was one of the best hotels I've stayed in. We stayed for 3 nights and it was fantastic. The room was lovely and stylish and the housekeeping was meticulous with their service. The concierge and valet guys were really outstanding as well. My only complaint is the $35 per night charge for garaging my car , most of the other places I've been to charge about $20 to $25 per night. One small problem was the weight-sensored minibar in the room. On the first night I'd arrived, I asked them to remove all the items as I had my 2 year old son with me and wanted to store some milk for him ( plus I knew without a doubt that he'd be playing with the items in the fridge as soon as my back was turned). They told me they couldn't remove the items but did bring up another fridge for me to store the milk. Upon check out, they had a $35 bottle of cognac on my bill which I definitely did not drink. Luckily they understood that my lil boy had been playing with the fridge and had removed the item from my bill.

“Best Value”

It was really a lovely hotel. It's just so disappointing that the carpets in the hallway were stained and that there was a nasty odor in the hallways. Other than that, there was a lot of attention to detail in making sure our stay was comfortable and the staff was amazing. The location is also great. We spent a lot of time walking around that area and enjoyed it.

“Beautiful hotel”

Every inch of the US Grant seems to have been painstakingly restored. As an admirer of historic hotels, I really appreciated that. The staff was also very friendly and courteous. The rooms were very nicely designed and very comfortable.

“Beautiful Hotel!”

This is a beautiful Hotel with lots of history behind it... The staff was very efficient and helpful in every way... The Hotels Concierge, Mark Peak, went above and beyond the necessary to make us feel at home... He even took us on a mini tour of the Celestial Ballroom. He made my 82 yr old Father feel very special. This is a must if you are visiting the San Diego area! :)... Enclosed is a picture of Mark with my Father and Sister.
