“Fantastic,friendly hotel in great location.”

We have stayed at the Dana on three occassions and we have always had a positive experience.We have stayed in the bay view rooms which are spacious with lovely views. The hotel is clean and relaxing. It's location is ideal for mission beach and Sea world. There are 2 restaurants,the Blue Pearl and the Firefly. The Blue Pearl is less formal and provides more casual dining.We had the breakfast package which is excellent value for money and all the staff are extremely polite and attentive. The Firefly provides more fomal dining and the menu is superb.We could not fault this hotel,but if you do have any complaints they are dealt with swiftly and in a professional manner.San Diego itself is a beautiful city with plenty to do and see for all the family. We shall be returning this year,but intend to stay in Coronado which we qbsolutely love!

Area recommendations

Mission bay for the beaches and location for sightseeing.I would also recommend Coronado for its beach and the famous Hotel Del Coronado -well worth a visit!

“Good stay”

Overall, our stay was pleasant. We were able to check in early and the hotel staff were very nice and helpful. Customer service was great. They even provided shuttle service to sea world. My only complaints were that the walls were thin and we could hear our neighbors yelling at their kid next door and we could hear the people walking around above us sometimes. Also the power went out several times on a second and third night but the problem was addressed quickly. Overall, we had a great time and would definitely stay here again.

“Not what I expected”

I was very dissapointed with this Hotel on so many levels, room was not in great condition,carpets and flooring were old and in need of upgrade,white linen and towels were 'grey' and thin from being used for too long. Handy position for Seaworld.

“Fantasic Views”

The Dana on Mission Bay was amazing, when we first got there we were unaware of the lack of space in the room in parts of the complex, after speaking with management, we were upgraded at no extra charge they were amazing with their customer service. The suite we ended up in was very clean, comfortable and the surroudings of this complex were great, the restraurant was nice but service was really slow and the food was cold, there are other restaurants that are cheaper and nicer in the area. The room we had was beautiful and had an awsome view of the bay, it was clean and pleanty of space to accomodate two adults and a child. rooms were cleaned daily. The pool was nice but the water looked a bit cloudy, the suttle service to Sea World was great too. For the price we paid it was a great place to stay and I would go back.

“Dana over Thanksgiving weekend”

Room was very nice. Had a balcony and could see the bay. Guest Services were good. Parking was a problem here. You first had to pay to park, but when we returned from a late evening, there were no parking places left. Went to the desk and they refunded the parking fee and had me park on the other side of the property. They did have coffee in the lobby, but removed it at 7AM when the gift shop opened. Over all, it is a very nice hotel, and I would stay there again.

“Very Cozy”

I had a great time staying at Dana. The thing impressed me most is that they have refrigerator and microwave in the room. It also have a very nice flat screen TV. However, the room and bathroom are a little small.
