“Friendly service and very considerate employees”
Great room for the price and convienent to our location. Mentioned that our son and family llved nearby, the receptionist suggested we bring them over to share in the hotels breakfast the next morning. Friendly employees and nice quiet room in a nice neighborhood.
“Not Impressed”
I pick out hotels that have breakfast included to save a few bucks. Well this hotel advertised a hot breakfast with waffels, ya they don't have them. I also asked for a assisted room because of my broken leg. What you get is a room with lowered light switches, and a shower head that can be adjusted and used as a hand held. The shower was made for a short person, which I feel is very wrong, special needs does not mean short. The room was not cleaned/made up daily, and when we asked about it they said not to worry it would get done tomorrow. The comforter which I remove right away anyway should have been burned it ws so dirty/stained. I will be visiting the San Diego area again but will never stay at this hotel again. Totally dissatisfied
“Good but could be better”
The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful but there are a lot of things that they need to improve structurally. The air conditioner was broken in the first room, sounding like there was a short in the wiring so they moved us to a second room. The second room had stains in several places in the carpet and the door frame of the bathroom looked like it had been water logged and was pulling apart. The smoke alarm went off because the batteries were dead. The staff was quick to address the problems they could improve on.
“Check under the bed”
My son was bit by a big spider. My husband pulled the bed to see if he brought any friends and found spider webs, food, playing cards, .... I would not stay there again. Tried to report it to the staff at checkout and due to language barriers, did not acknowledge nor address our concerns.
“Not impressed”
We gave a $10 tip to room service at the beginning of our stay, with a note asking for towels for four (our group reservation number) an extra blanket and liners for the waste basket. Towels were provided the first day only (we stayed three days). No soap, no shampoo, no blanket, etc. We didn't even ask the front desk as they had already told us at check in that they didn't offer any complimentary ibuprofen, etc. We had quite the chat about how they are not allowed to give bandaids any more! The tile bathroom floor was not cleaned/swept during our stay and the bathtub was not wiped down around the edges. And the breakfast is a bare minimum. The front desk was friendly, but seemed harassed and never asked how our stay was - even at check out. However, we did have a dog and they don't charge extra for dogs - which was unexpected and nice.
“Bad condition”
Conveniently located near the free way. Hotel not in great condition. Stained walls dirty chairs floor bathroom. Bed was clean. About twenty minutes from lego land. Breakfast was not much but there is an I hop next door.
“Very happy”
I found the staff very friendly. The facility was well maintained and the breakfast was much better than I anticipated. I would definitely go back. We had to ask for more towels since not enough were supplied but they were very accommodating to our requests. Definitely a great value and was my first experience with a La Quinta and will definitely seek out other La Quintas based on my experience on this vacation.
“Old & Musty Room”
We requested a nonsmoking room and when we checked-in our room, it had a funny smell to it. My husband thought it smelled out smoke We called the front desk and the nice lady assured us that it was supposedly a non-smoking room on the 3rd floor. After we turned on the AC for 20 minutes, the strange smell disappeared. The bathroom door was stuck. We had to hold the handle and push it to close and open. To make matters worse, the handle appeared to be falling off too. The light in the bathroom was also dying. It barely worked and continuously flickered non-stop. The toilet handle was awful. You had to hold it down for 5 seconds in order for it to flush. My husband and I decided that this was the worse hotel that we have ever stayed in. We have stayed in other La Quinta Hotels before and none of them have ever been in this poor condition. The only positive part is that it is close to Legoland and it was clean. When we go back and visit Legoland in the future, we will NEVER stay at this hotel again.
“Unremarkable.”
Reasonable value for $. Location was good for us as we were visiting family in area. Reasonable close to beach, and other attractions. Was a little noisy due to nearby traffic and family staying in room next door. Breakfast was ok -- nothing to rave about.
“Good for the Price”
Hotel was located close to Legoland where we were visiting for vacation. Staff was nice and very helpful. Bed were comfortable but a little on the small side for two people to sleep. The only thing I would have to say is that if you want towels when you come back to the hotel after being out for the day or nothing thrown away then make sure to put your do not disturb sign up.
