“You get what you pay for.”

You totally get what you pay for. The bathroom has alot water damage. The shower took at least 5 mins to warm up and then after that you were fighting always for the right temp. I had to change room after the first night because of all the noise for the ice machine and street traffic. The carpet had stains on it. But at least the towels and sheets were clean. If ur on a budget, this place is great.

“Not Impressed”

Spent three days at this hotel. I was in town for work. The internet did not work all three days. The tv stopped working on the second day. There was a storm in the area and the weather was below the norm (about 55 degrees). The heater did not work. The carpet is old and dirty. The free breakfast is a combination of cheap bread, bananas, cereal, and greasy eggs. When asked about internet I was given the number of their internet provider. When I called, I was kept on the phone just to be told every single day that "they were working on it." I will never stay here again. There were other folks from my company staying in the hotel who had the same experiences and will also not stay there again.

“wind and sea”

We have now stayed at this Hotel 3 times and it is always very clean the staff is friendly . The breakfast items are very sufficent. and the location is great you can walk to wind and sea beach in less than 5 minutes. We go to San Diego twice a year and always stayed at La Jolla Shores that is now our second choice if Holiday Inn Express is not available. our trips to San Diego are not about staying in a fancy resort ( if we want that we stay home and go to any of the luxurious properties in Las Vegas sorry for the cheap plug) they are about being outside you are also very close to lots of restuants in la jolla and oceanside mission bay

“Good Location”

We've stayed at this hotel several times - always satisfied. Especially enjoy convenience to the LaJolla Cove without being in the congestion. Rooms are nice and clean, beds are comfortable. Would definitely recommend this hotel and we'll stay there again next time we're in the area.

“Avoid this one”

They have done some things to try to update the rooms... granite desktop and tile in the bathroom, but they are clearly cutting corners. My first room had an outrageous amount of road noise. There was about a 3/4" gap under the door with no weather stripping. All of the doors have foot prints and scuff marks on the outside. The bedside lamps took two bulbs but there was only one bulb in one lamp so the room was very dark. I switched rooms do to the noise and the second room had ONE lamp with ONE 60 watt bulb for the entire desk and bed area, leaving things dark and gloomy and I couldn't read anywhere but at the desk. The bathrooms were well lit, but on some kind of motion sensor that didn't work right. This is obviously an old motel that has been converted into a very substandard Holiday Inn Express. I will not be back.

“Great location for the Beach”

Great Location, No nonsense accomodation, would stay there again.

“Good value at a nice location”

We enjoyed this hotel, its walking distance to the beach. It was very clean and the staff was nice. They even let us check in an hour early. We will definitely be staying here again when we come back to La Jolla. The only downside is the breakfast leaves something to be desired.

We really enjoyed this hotel. The breakfast was great. Our room was lovely. Close to the beach.

“Going back whenever we visit San Diego”

Overall very satisfied. Friendly staff.
