“convenient”

we were going up and down Rt 15 from north of Escondido to San Diego so having the Hampton Inn just 3 miles off the highway was convenient. We chose Hampton because they are always consistently good. We would go back again.

“Kinda Cramped”

The room was oddly layed out. The bathroom door opened from the left, which placed the door handle next to the handle of the room's hallway door. My husband and I had to be careful of bumping the two doors into each other. The room had the smallest closet I had ever seen and the magnet that held the door closed was hanging by one screw so that I had to move the magnet in place in order to keep the closet door closed. In fact, the whole room was smaller than normal and cramped. Possibly the worst was the beds. The mattresses were soft and lumpy, and because the hotel is close to Legoland, have probably been bounced on by a good many kids. The hotel chain has favorable name recognition so I was expecting something a little better and I would hesitate to stay there again.

“As generally expected for a Hampton Inn”

The only improvement would be mini-refrigerators in the rooms.
