“Always stay here!”
I might just be a creature of habit but I just love this hotel. I've stayed here almost every time I visit San Diego. It's not the largest and finest, but it offers a wonderfully comfortable place to unwind. The suite is divided by closing the sliding French door. Came in handy when hubby's snoring became an issue! Ha!! The bed is so comfortable with the down comforter and softy pillows. I can't comment on breakfast because we left early but there was always an assortment of pastry and fruit. Location might seem too far from downtown but the short 5 min drive was worth it. There is a parking fee at the hotel as well a downtown. That is the only draw back.
“very confusion location, rude front desk”
There are probably two or three Comfort Inns around the hotel circle. My BMW GPS got lost so i drove my car around the circle again and again. Finally I have to use my IPhone GPS to finally get to the hotel. What the heck! I left some personal items in the hotel, so i drove back to the hotel at around 7:00pm to retrieve them. But the front desk said the manager was not in the hotel so he could help me on that. He did not even bother ask me to leave my phone number after the conversion. Very rude.
“Great place/Great Location”
Clean and centrally located. My only complaint is that I asked for fresh batteries for my TV remote within the first few minutes of my arrival. I was assured that they would be arriving in "a few minutes", after 4 days, they never arrived. No big deal, but not the attention to detail I am accustomed to.
“Very comfortable for the price. Great pool area and big breakfast.”
The stay was great except after a long day out, came back to our bed being completely stripped and laying on the floor. Was too late for housekeeping to put it back together. They offered us to stay in a different room. We slept in a handicapped open room for the night and went back to our original room in the morning. They apoligized, but offered us nothing for the inconvience. totally enjoyed our room because it had 1 king bed and a sitting room with couch, chair andother tv and table.
“unhappy”
rooms were much smaller than showed on the internet. They were not noise proof the rolled laudry carts early in the morning. workers talking loud on there radio. I was very unhappy.
“Did not meet expectations”
The location was great. Good price. Breakfast buffet was great. Room had limited A/C. We were so hot and had to run the fan all night which was noisy. Housekeeping slow. Room phone had no directory to front desk. Overall, did no meet our expectations.
“it was ok”
This hotel was pretty clean and had a good breakfast selection.
“Best value in town”
We love this place! Its not a 4 star hotel, so if you're expecting luxury, expect to be disappointed. If you expect clean, comfortable and convenient - there's none better. Rooms are not large - but we don't spend time in the room. It has a seating area that is separate from the sleeping area, a feature I really appreciate that few others offer. The staff are pleasant and helpful ... we've stayed here a number of times and have never yet had a problem that wasn't fixed quickly and courteously. The location can't be beat - very close to good restaurants, shopping and activities like the zoo or the harbour. I'd recommend it to anyone and wouldn't hesitate to return anytime.
“Like the Hotel Del Coronado but totally different!”
Bunk beds are great for the kids.
“Great location”
We booked this hotel while visiting SDSU with our daughter. Close to many restaurants, large malls and right off freeway. Rooms were on the smaller side but functional. Refrigerator was nice but a little loud. Good Air conditioning. Decent full buffet breakfast which had waffle maker, eggs, biscuits and gravy, fresh fruit, cereal, muffins, coffee and juices. Well stocked with lots of staff helping keep things running smooth despite the large amounts of guests partaking. Nice pool area with spa with lounge chairs. I had trouble getting out of my parking space due to it being a tight fit but did manage with my friend guiding me. Our king bed was very comfy but the Pull out couch in our king suite had a very uncomfortable mattress where you could feel the springs. We used an extra blanket to pad it.One lamp didn't work. Staff was helpful.
