“A wonderful staff and experience!”

Great Hotel, Great Location with a rooftop bar and pool in the heart of the Gas Lamp area of San Diego.

“Not impressed”

There is a night club within the hotel. What a patron is not made aware of is that if you are given an inside courtyard room, the noise from the nightclub which spills into the courtyard is so loud that it is impossible to rest. As a paying guest, there was no indication that this was going to be the case until it began. Not everyone wants to go to the nightclub. I was told that the nightclub ran Thursday thru Saturday and did not close until 1:30 am. I was attending a conference and came from the East Coast, so the time difference was difficult enough. When I called about it, they first told me they did not have another room, but i could have a glass of wine or a white noise machine. When i called back and insisted, they did find a different room, which decreased my satisfaction knowing that there was one available to begin with and not offered to begin with. The biggest issues were that i was a paying customer and not informed of the potential problems.

Area recommendations

I would still recommend the area/neighborhood. Just not this hotel.

“Awesome Andaz”

So what's not to like? The roof deck is to die for on a sunny day and at night it turns into a night club. And they have quite a few sunny days here. They measure expected downpours in the hundredths of inches of rain,no kidding! Historically, the area has substantial Spanish influence and i think the archetecture displays that.Very appealing to the eye if one has an eye for it. Nightlife,perfecto.Vacation paridise. The shower in the middle of the room is quite an appealing feature.Hotel staff are professional,courteous and friendly. I haven't found a downside yet,but i might extend my stay in a vigilant effort to locate one.

Hotel is in the Gaslamp section of San Diego,restaurants,bars and shopping all nearby.

“Loved the hotel.....but be aware that it's a bit too close to Skid Row!”

I recently stayed at the Andaz for a business trip for three nights. The staff there are very professional and friendly. I checked in a bit late which was not a problem at all. I was given a brief tour of my room. I had to laugh when I saw the huge glass shower near the bedroom. That was definitely something different. The room looked trendy yet was very comfortable. They actually offer free soda and some snacks in the room. I enjoyed my stay and I would definitely return. Cons- Andaz hotel is near the Salvation Army and a Woman's shelter. There were a lot of homeless people just across the street. I was able to hear so much noise in my room because it is an old building. Valet parking was a bit steep.

“Great Hotel & Staff!”

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at Andaz. The staff was awesome and the complimentary Mini bar nonalcoholic drinks were a plus and was restocked daily. Also had complimentary chocolate, chips, and cereal bar. Loved the roof top and ppol area. We didn't visit during the weekend when the club is open but it looks like it would be a very nice upscale club. The staff was absolutely great and professional. We really enjoyed our stay!!!

“A luxurious night in the gaslamp district”

The staff was very helpful, upgrade was available, and the hotel amenities were amazing! Free and front of the line access to the rooftop lounge as well as the Vegas style nightclub in the basement. Amenities were really awesome in the rooms, soda and water and coffee as well as snacks! the location was right in the middle of the district,a short walk to The Field, and the mall! All of the bars were close, and the one in the hotel was reasonably priced. The room was really clean and spacious, an the shower in the middle of the room was awesome!!

“Andaz Hotel”

This hotel is great - specialty enough to cater to their guests. The rooms are very nice and the staff are very catering and remeber the guests. We were taken on a tour of the nightclubs and then were greeted by guide by name the rest of our stay. Our only complaint is on Saturday nights when their clubs are full is that it gets very loud as there were many there just for the night and partied throughout the night!!

“Best hotel ever”

The Andaz hotel was beautiful. The staff was extremely nice and helpful. Club Ivy and the roof top was amazing. I would definately go back again.

“Not what it used to be...”

Although the service at the andaz is still great, the hotel is definitely not where it used to be. We stayed there on a weekend and were expecting the large crowds and loud music from the club, that never bothered us at all. However this time we feel the anadaz took a step in the wrong direction. It took forever to get elevators to your room as they catered to the club goers and not guests, this what never the case in the past. Also, the clean up after the club was a disgrace. There was vomit stains in the carpet by our room and the next morning going upstairs to the roof for coffee was disgusting. It smelt like stale beer and vomit. This had to be our 10th time staying at the andaz and probably our last for the money they charge.

“Beautiful Hotel Tainted by Club Noise”

Staff and amenities are top notch. Sadly, the club noise until 2-3AM would not make this a primary choice for a weekend stay again for us.
