“Lovely, but COLD!”

The St. Anthony is a beautiful old hotel with lots of charm and character. It's opulent history shows throughout, and the location is great. The room was spacious and clean. However, we visited on a night with freezing temperatures and our room's heat never came on! We called to report, and a maintenance man came and tried the thermostat, but wasn't successful. He said he'd be back, but he never came. We called for extra blankets which were delivered; but no one offered to move us or apologize for our discomfort.

“needs work”

leftovers in refrigerator, one dirty towel, and other p roblems.

Comment from the hotel's management
Please accept my apologies for the issues you encountered with the left over food in the refrigerator and lack of towels in your room. There is no excuse what so ever, without a doubt we dropped the ball, certainly we are capable of doing a lot better. Please know that guest satisfaction is our number one priority, I will share your comments with our staff and corrective action will be taken accordingly to avoid this from happening in the future.

“VERY Disappointed”

The lobby was packed every night making paying guests walk around through an access area behind the lobby to access our PAID rooms. The coffee supplies and clean drinking glasses had to be called for everyday. The housekeeping rarely answers the phone and I would have to call the front desk to get what I needed dleivered. The rooms are noisy the trash truck comes every morning at 4:30 and sounds like it is in your room. There was trash in the pool. The staff is not very friendly. I would NEVER recommend this hotel or return to it again.

Area recommendations
The Riverwalk area is the best access to all the main attractions. I have stayed at many hotels on the riverwalk in San Antonio this by ALL means was the worst ever.
Comment from the hotel's management
Please accept my sincere apologies for issues you encountered during your recent stay at out hotel. I am sorry for the noise that was created by the garbage truck and early pick-up hours, we have spoken to the city to change the timings, however; these is no excuse for housekeeping related issues, I have spoken with the our Exec. Housekeeper and these issues have been addressed. please know that this is over one hundred years old historic hotel and we are working very hard to improve over all guest experience. Again, please accept my apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused you. Best Regards,

“Victorian Elegance by the Riverwalk”

The St. Anthony is about one and half blocks from the Riverwalk. The great thing about that is that it is close enough to walk and yet far away from the noise and all night partying that you get on the riverwalk hotels. Our hotel stay was wonderful. The room was gorgeous. We had a room with two queen sized four poster beds. The room had two private bathrooms which was great since my friend and I didn't have to share a bathroom. The bathrooms are quaint with vintage bathrooms, but they are immaculate. All the staff were wonderful and the concierge was great! They also have greaat ghost stories! Darn it! We didn't have any ghostly experience.

I love the Riverwalk. We ate at Mi Tierra Restaurant which has fabulous Mexican food. We had breakfast at Shilo's on Commerce. It is German food, a wonderful breakfast.

“Dissapointing”

Pro's Bed Comfortable/Good Location. Cons Pool was not heated at all as advertised. Rooms were not available for several hours after the 4 pm checkin. Waited in line more than 30 minutes to find out our room was not ready. Carpets stained and worn out. Paid $9.00 for a small waffle for a 3 year old.

Comment from the hotel's management
Please accept my apologies for the issues you encountered during your recent stay at our hotel. Unfortunately, sometimes we do get a little behind due to late group departures which delays the check-in process. Please know that I have shared your comments with all involved and corrective action will be taken accordingly. Needless to say that guest satisfaction is our number one priority and we try very hard to provide positive guest experience to all of our guests. Again, thank you for taking time to write this review and hope you will give us another chance to serve you.

“beautiful style”

My family and I stayed at St.Anthony's Hotel and loved the feel. It was cold out and the fire place in the lobby was very welcoming. The furniture was beautiful and the rooms were elegant. It has been a long time since we have stayed in a hotel that wasn't a "cookie cutter" style.

“We will definitely return to this Hotel”

We arrived earlier than check in, but we were able to check in with no problems. When we arrived to our room it was partially cleaned, we notified the front desk, with no hesitation, they upgraded our room at no extra charge. Everyone was very nice from the front desk, the bellmen, valet, cooks, and room services. Thanks St. Anthony Riverwalk Wyndham Hotel for an awesome stay!!!! We'll be back

“shabby and pricey”

the hotel corridor looks great but then thats all. Room was shabby and dirty for the price. Parking was etc and can cost from 20 to 27 dollars. Didnt like the pace at all. The bed was creaky. And any tiny noise from outside creeps into the room. Bad experience and wont recommend this place to anyone,

Comment from the hotel's management
I am very sorry for not meeting your expectations during your recent stay at our hotel. Please know that this is over one hundred years old historic hotel, we try very hard to provide all of guests positive experience without compromising the historic values of the hotel. I am sorry that you feel that parking rate is too high, please know our parking rates are very competitive and on average lower than other area hotels; again, I am sorry for any inconvenience that may have caused you.
