“Hotel Valencia- excellent staff!”
Quick trip into San Antonio and stayed one night at Hotel Valencia- had a fabulous time! PRO's: The hotel staff is helpful/friendly. Accommodations were nice-the linens were top rate. There is a Starbucks right across the street so you don't have to go too far for a coffee fix! CON's: Bed was very firm.
“Quite nice”
Found the hotel clean, modern and quite nice. Located far enough from the late night action so you are not disturbed, but close enough to walk to desired destinations. Would stay here again!
“Great Location”
We stayed at this hotel for a wedding anniversary weekend. For the price we paid via Expedia it was excellent. The service was very good. I specifically remember one evening that I wanted to drink a diet coke and didn't really want to walk down a number of hallways in my boxers to get ice. Expecting nothing I looked in to the shut ice container and they were evidently putting ice there each night, really a nice touch. The location is excellent. Almost right outside your door is the River Walk. My only gripe might be something positive for others, that is, it was very dark and very modern. The fact that it was very dark made it feel like it was hiding some of the blemishes throughout the hotel, but again, overall we really enjoyed it and I am splitting hairs here.
“Paper thin walls”
The acoustics between hotel rooms was awful. With normal conversation it was disruptive and one night the guests next door were very loud and it was as if they werevin our room. Everything else was right about the hotel, it had an updated modern decor, it was in a very good location, service was good, it was clean and had a good restaurant but the transferring of sound ruined everything. Since we were so disrupted one night due to other guests our valet garage parking fee was waived for the 3 days. That was very kind of them but I couldn't stay there again due to the paper thin walls. In addition we opted for the Riverwalk side, which meant a more expensive nightly cost, the view we got was partially blocked and not worth upgrade charge.
“Excellent Hotel, but outside noise killed it.”
nice place. Valets moved my seat and did not put back and failed to help load luggage on the way out. Room was awesome but the outside noise from trash trucks and traffic killed the experience. For the price of the Hotel, would most probably stay somewhere else due to the noise. I can get the same noise at a cheaper hotel with same amenities.
“Where is my car!”
Stayed at the Valencia on business recently -- nice enough hotel with large sleeping room but tiny bathrooms. The failure is in the service -- service at the bar is spotty - make sure you catch the wait staff with they come by because it will be a while before they come by again. The biggest issue I had was with the valet parking. Big bucks for the "service" per night and I consistently waited 15 to 20 minutes for the car. At checkout I was told they first brought the wrong car so my wait was well over 30 minutes! No matter what else the hotel offered, at that point I knew I would never stay there again.
“Awesome place and location”
The hotel was so nice and so clean. Every time we would walk back into our room from our adventure on the riverwalk, the room smelled so good. It was just so clean and comfortable. The beds could stand to be a little more comfy but overall they were sleep worthy.
“Beautiful Modern Botique Hotel”
We were soooo impressed with our stay at the Hotel Valencia. It was stunning from first entrance into the dark, seductive waterfall-decorated lobby, to the sexy ultra-modern lounge/bar and the tastefully contemporary rooms. The price was right and the location could not be beat. The view from our room was stunning, and the Riverwalk is all that has every been advertised.
“Excellent Location, but without parking”
Hotel location, service and rooms are great, I did not have the chance to see the whole thing but it is in a pretty nice place close to everything in downtown. Since I am from Texas I drove to San Antonio and had trouble to find parking space in downtown. Parking won't be an issue for all those traveling by airplane though.
“Nice Hotel except we reserved a King bed & they gave us 2 queens & wouldnt honor our reserved room”
the Hotel stated our reservation for a king size bed was a request only even though this is what we chose and paid for. They said they honly have to provide a room even if it wasn't the one we specified
