“Great hotel, Staff needs improvement”

I really enjoyed the location and general feel of the hotel and would stay there again. The front desk staff was too young/immature and didn't seem willing to help on things that other hotels would insist on. No one seemed to even know how to load ink into any of the hotel copiers as four of them were low on ink! Printing boarding passes took over 20 minutes because of lack of experience and desire to help. It's a shame, the hotel is nice, modern, and even though the rooms are small, they are not lacking in anything else. They also don't honor Expedia Elite for anything and seemed clueless as to what it even was. The parking is free (some downtown hotels in San Antonio charge 35$ per day to park) and it has great access to restaurants and the North Star Mall and freeways. All in all a pleasant experience that could have been a great experience if it weren't for more knowledgeable and professional staff.

“Good location”

The location was extremely convenient for me, near the airport and Northstar Mall, with a breakfast restaurant sharing the same parking lot and numerous other restaurants within walking distance or a short drive. The decor is modern/techno/industrial. Bed was comfortable. I didn't like the bathroom door. It's a hanging sliding door that doesn't fully close the toilet/shower area from the rest of the room. It wasn't a problem for me, but it would have been if I had shared the room and wanted privacy.

The style is very 'chic'. I didn't feel as in a hotel room but as in my own bedroom. I liked the eco-friendly policies.

My room was by the elevator and all I heard every time some one was using the elevator was the roaring of the elevator engine. All night all morning, in the shower, in bed, non stop roaring of elevator noise. And to suffice my 2nd complaint they gave me a free drink at the bar...Ooo, gee thanks. So I say no thanks to this hotel.

“Will return next time in town”

I had a great stay at Aloft. I stayed here a year ago and thought that I'd like to return. The cost was good for a weekend stay and everything that I wanted to do for my relaxation weekend (that's why I came to San Antonio) was in very close proximity to the hotel. Comedy club, movie theater, shopping mall and great bars and restaurants were literally in walking distance. I will return.
