“You can't go wrong with this hotel”

We were very satisfied with the Hotel. It buts up against the Mirabel garden and is with in an easy (10 minute) walk of the old city. The neighborhood is clean and safe. We were treated well by the staff at the Hotel; they were very courteous and helpful in answering questions and arranging transportation for us to the air port on the day of our departure. I would recommend this hotel with out hesitation to anyone going to Salzburg.

Area recommendations

Definitely visit the old city; checkout the fortress, the Mozart birth house, and the Getreidegasse (shopping area). For a cheap good meal visit the Fish Kreig restaurant.

“Excellent accommodations for a Salzburg visit”

We have stayed at many hotels in Austria and Salzburg over the years and this Sheraton was a wonderful place to stay. The location is very convenient and the facilities were wonderful. Parking a rental car was also convenient and the breakfast was great. You may have to pay extra for those items if you don't include them in your package but the price they charge, which seems high for Americans, is actually on par with other hotels. We would definitely choose to stay here again on our next visit to Salzburg.

Area recommendations

Highly recommend you visit the salt mine. This was a very fun tour for the kids. We also visited the ice caves and that was very neat but be prepared for a vigorous hiking day. I don't know if I would book any lake and mountain trips, which we did, until you know what the weather is going to be. Our hoped summer visit to the mountains turned out to be a cold and rainy day and we changed our plans.

Events and shows

The sound of music tour is nice and the available dinner show was entertaining but this is not something I would recommend you do with kids.

“Salzburg Sheratorn”

The location of this hotel is perfect on the edge of the garden. We walked through the garden to the old town everyday - takes 10 minutes. There were a number of cafe's one block from the hotel that served a great breakfast for under 10 Euros. The only drawback was paying for internet access. The staff were warm, friendly, and very helpful. I highly recommend this hotel.

“Will go back again!”

Very good location. Only 10' walk to the old part of the city and next to the Mirabel Gardens. There was public parking next to the hotel which was free over the weekend. The two rooms we booked were connected and were much bigger than expected given the room standards in Europe. Would go back there again!

Old city is great to visit. Also, take the tour and climb the mountains of the Sound of Music (that was fun!).

“Best location.”

The location of the hotel was very central and the staff were so helpful. As I was checking in the staff provided me with a local map and pointed out my hotel. They gave me a suggested walking route that would take in most of the 'must sees'. Great ambassadors for Salzburg.

Area recommendations

The old town is within walking distance of the hotel and should not be missed. The park is adjacent to the hotel (right behind) and is a pleasant place to spend an afternoon or evening.

Dining

In the old town there are fantastic cafes with outdoor seating. Great for people watching.

nice location, pleasant staff, easy to get from train station (would appreciate concise directions for how to navigate out of station to the main street towards town and hotel), comfortable room and amenities, walking distance to gardens and old town

“Top of my list for places to return to.”

From the moment you enter this hotel, you are treated with courtesy and freindlyness that will put you at ease, no matter what the hour of arrival. They are very helpful to guide you to the many places to go to in the city and outside the city as well as most are very familiar with them.

Area recommendations

Recommend vist to the old town and definitely make a point of doing the Sound Of Music tour. The tour will take you outside of Salzburg to a wonderful small village worth the visit, a must to return and explore on its own.

“Salzburg, great destination”

Salzburg really was the right destination for three nights not long before Christmas. The Sheraton provided us with an excellent room although i was slightly disappointed about the lack of a bath, something i feel is essential in a five star hotel, especially when you have booked the executive rooms.

Area recommendations

Did everything we wanted to except eat the Salburg Nokerl (dessert) - ate at a 1200 year old restaurant, saw the castle, two brewery/beer halls, Christmas markets, cakes, and all the rest - just the right amount of time there too.
