“nice hotel nice location”
The hotel is very nice, I had a room with view on the river a bit small but beatiful and large bathroom.
“A bit disappointing and not a 5 star”
We stayed here on New Year's Eve and New Years Day 2010/1. I would disagree with some of the complimentary reviews on about this hotel for the following reasons: The rate (which was expensive) did not include breakfast which was an additional 22 euros per person - this should be taken into account in deciding on whether to book this or an alternative hotel where breakfast is included. Parking - we had to draw up on a very busy road and leave ouri car at the side - we were lucky to find a place as it is very busy. The receptionist then informed us that the parking was 20 mins away and the porter would take our car there for us. If we wanted it back we were to give 20 mins notice and he would collect it. This cost 26 euros per day! Again you need to bear this in mind when deciding whether this hotel offers value for money - I don't think it does when you also add the cost of the breakfast. The room was a standard room as this was the only one available. There was a large space however the bedroom was small and there was no where to sit other than on the bed - one hard back desk chair was provided which was uncomfortable and not much help for two people! The bathroom was large but the facilites were not of a 5 star - old fashined bath and wall mounted shower - not power shower. In summary - great location but before you book take my comments into account and compare the total cost with alternatives - I saw a few other hotels in the old town which looked nicer.
“One of the best hotels I have ever stayed in!”
We stayed at the Radisson Blu Hotel Altstadt for six nights. The hotel is located in the old town within minutes of all the sights and the university of Salzburg where we attended a conference. The room was large and very comfortable, with a view of the old town and fortress. Hotel personnel and staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Have never stayed in a more charming hotel!
“Best location in Salzburg!”
The hotel was everything we expected and more, located right in the heart of Old Town, the hotel looks out onto the river and the back lane is a walking street with all the best shops and restaurants in Salzburg. You couldn't get a better location as Old Town is walking only and major transportation was available using the front of the hotel. We received a room upgrade for free and our room had all the bells and whistles and included complimentary drinks in the lounge.
“beautiful hotel - perfect location.”
I have been to Salzburg before and wanted to bring my mum as a birthday treat - and it certainly didn't disappoint! Salzburg is sophisticated, opulent and grand. The shopping is fantastic and the food is even better! The hotel is situated in the heart of the old town and is surrounded by shops and restaurants, but not so as to be intrusive. We stayed on the first floor in a beautiful room which was more like a suite as it had a separte entrance with the bedroom leading off, and a three piece suite! The room was a little dark as one window faced the high wall of a building but it helped to keep the room cooler. My only complaint is that the room was quite warm at night and as the window faced the main street it wasn't possible to keep the large windows open - a fan would have been welcomed. The local dish is wonderful - veal in breadcrumbs served with potatoes and cranberry jam. I can recommend the hotel accross the river on the main road leading down, on the opposite side of the road and slightly further up than "Wein & Co" - apologies but I cannot remember the name of it! For a more upmarket meal, I can certainly recommend the restaurant in hotel K&K which is just around the corner from the hotel. All in all a fantastic trip and I will definitely go back.
“Great Hotel in Salzburg Old City!!”
This hotel is in a great location in the Old City of Salzburg. We took the city bus from the train station & there was an entrance to the hotel on the main street facing the river so it was only a 2 block walk from the bus stop. the other side of the hotel faces the main cobblestone shopping street. All of the staff was very friendly, helpful and english speaking. Our room was very nice with robe, slippers, bidet, cable tv and nice toiletries. We were on the top floor with a skylight but no view due to a building right next to us but we were sightseeing all day so that was fine. The Christmas Market was amazing and only 2 blocks from the Hotel!!
“Great Hotel”
Great hotel in an excellent position in the old part of Salzburg. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We were given a room upgrade and a free drink on arrival.

“Great location”
Positives: Perfect location for the old town, fortress and squares. Mirabelle gardens only 15 mins walk away. Negatives: Hotel has no AC, and retains heat on hot days. No iron in rooms and none are allowed. There is a central ironing facility which charges around 10 euros per item!
“Excellent hôtel à Salzburg: il mérite ses 5 étoiles”
Accueil irréprochable. Service de grande classe. Bien situé dans la vieille ville.
