We stayed for the ocean view. The property is older, but the location, beach, pool, and the restaurant were wonderful and the staff very helpful and courteous.

Loved the breakfast and the hospitable staff. The location was perfect to access Carnival. Lots of security and felt safe. If you're a light sleeper, you'll hear Carnival music in your room until 6am daily. Lol.

I simpy love hotels that are situated right next to the sea. The views are spectacularly gorgeous. It has this haunting beauty that is timeless. The hotel staff are super friendly, notably Felipe. And this quiet place is just a short walk away from the busy Barra district, so you can pull away and relax whenever needed. I cannot recommend this hotel enough. Enjoy and relax.

We enjoyed our stay our stay at the hotel. It was clean and the staff did their best to communicate with our broken Portuguese. Breakfast and the buffet dinner offered a wide variety of food and all were delicious. If you need water, there is a small shop called Fatima’s that is 1/2 block from the hotel. We didn’t use the pool or the sun deck, but many people were. The hotel was perfect as our base for day trips. We would definitely stay there again.

The check-in process was extremely easy and quick. The staff is kind and helpful. Check-out is also fast. Breakfast is full of options, and you won't leave the hotel hungry. The bed was very comfortable. I believe the rooms could get an update, and I am referring more specifically in my case to the chair there is in the room for working. In general, I recommend it.

The location was perfect. Safe and by the beach. My only complaint is the second restaurant remained closed during my entire stay and the Versatil restaurant went to a buffet only for the last 4 days of my stay. I would have preferred to order from the menu.

I really enjoyed my stay but I have one complaint. The food at the buffet did not have proper labels. Specifically these labels were missing key ingredient for common allergies such as fish and shellfish. I ate a pepper oil sauce that was marinated in tuna fish. I'm severely allergic to fish and my air passages began to shut down. It was carnival so taxis/ubers could not reach the hotel and I was forced to call an ambulance for treatment. The staff was hesitant to call an ambulance but thankfully my friend insisted that they do it. So now I have a medical bill of undetermined amount. I contacted the hotel and they have not responded, which is unacceptable. A simple label could have prevented all of this an not put my life at risk.

Dear Mrs. Hill, Firstly, we would like to thank you for choosing Vila Galé Salvador for your staying in this city. We are deeply sorry about the problem you had during your staying. Regarding the situation you describe about the labels, there must be some kind of misunderstanding, because the "molho de pimenta" does not contain tuna fish or other kind of fish or sea food. It is just a side sauce prepare with oil and regional hot pepper. If you ate another dish that contained fish and it was not in the label please let us know in order to correct this mistake. We are sorry about the struggling you had to get assistance but during the carnival the council restrict every access to the circuit, and we are right in the middle of it. We are very happy with our choice and we are looking forward to go back. We love the location and the staff, in special Sr. Joselito at Tapioca station, he’s service was excellent, especially in fix the scrambled eggs from the kitchen, what was the only flaw to us.

Excellent value - quality for money. One of best hotels in this price range in Salvador. Well located directly on the coast in a nice relatively safe residential area. Definitely worth pay little more for a room with sea view.. Staff were friendly and helpful.

The beach situation needs to be addressed and the locals have access to the property from the beach up the back stairs; trash all over the beach, and no steps. No beach umbrellas, no chairs. At least rent them to your guest. Floors in apartment were sandy.

Nice time
It was a pleasant stay, I’ve marked it down because when they realised I was staying on my own they downgraded my room. I asked them not to but they did anyway. I was meant to be in an executive room but they changed it. Some of the staff are nice some just unhelpful. Breakfast was alright. Whatever you do make sure you, if your looking at the sea with your back to the hotel, turn right and head to the marina it’s beautiful. I took a trip with the tour people located inside the hotel by reception and I can’t recommend it enough. I went to the turtle conservation and it was brilliant, you have to pay to get in $25 and snorkelling is $60 extra.
