Nice hotel , but !,,,,

Posted 28-Jul-2014
Pros: Pool area
Cons: House keeping
Location: Lots to do around the area
When we first arrived , I thought the hotel and grounds looked lovely , but found the car park to far from the hotel , we didn't. quite know where to park , no clear signs . The reception was nice , staff friendly . When we went to our room we had to walk past a lot of dishes , wine bottles , glasses , papers from the last quest outside the rooms , which was still there at six o clock , this should have been cleared before three when quests check in , room not bad , pretty basic , when we went to the balcony , there was cobwebs all over the rails , which again would have only taken a few minutes to dust . The pool area was good , but again found it a bit crowded , not the relaxing over night stay i was expecting .

Great base with lovely views

Posted 18-Jul-2014
Pros: The friendly reception staff, beautiful views and decent sized beds.
Cons: The inconsiderate guests who think it's appropriate to talk at full volume outside other peoples bedrooms at 7.30am! And maybe a little refurb.
Location: The hotel is a short drive from Saltash which was where we needed to be. It's surrounded by the golf course and fileds so the view is picturesque.
We stayed here for 2 nights as we were in Saltash for a wedding. We booked a room with a balcony overlooking the golf course and rolling countryside, which was a lovely view. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and had most basic amenities, including an iron & ironing board. Hair conditioner would have been a plus but even some 5 star hotels don't provide this and you can request it from reception. We only had continental breakfast on one morning which there was plenty of. The car park was very busy which I always take as a good sign! We'd definitely come back if we were in the area again.

Good value country resort - but needs softer beds!

Posted 28-May-2014
Pros: King sized bed as standard, clean, great views.
Cons: Please replace bed mattresses with softer ones - I am on a holiday not a monastic retreat!! The mattress hardness prevented me sleeping properly.
Location: Great for Golf and Spa. Near to River Tamar and Tamar Valley Area of Outstanding Beauty. Definitely need a car to stay here.
The hotel is clean, well kept and the staff are polite and friendly. It is perfect for a golf enthusiast, or for a spa retreat. However, the one, BIG, issue I had is that the beds were too hard - making a good nights sleep difficult.

Nice place, too bad about the beds...

Posted 14-May-2014
Pros: the views of the golf course and grounds, with lovely walks.
Cons: the beds and pillows (very thin)
Location: not much of a town center, but nice for country rides and walks.
Had a horrible bed, old spring type mattress and very uncomfortable. Staff was somewhat accommodating and gave us a mattress topper, which helped - barely. On our last night, we suddenly heard a strange noise, as my husband felt one of the springs pop up and poked him right in the hip!

Great, but only if you play golf

Posted 09-May-2014 on Hotels.com
Good hotel with good gym and pool. Totally geared towards golfers. Wifi throughout the hotel poor and very slow. Didn't eat there as I saw some of the food and it looked too greasy and just mass produced. Didn't find the bar staff very helpful at all. Just needs to improve a few things and would be fantastic.

Glorious setting

Posted 29-Apr-2014 on Hotels.com
Glorious setting indeed, the view from my room over the golf course was truly incredible. Very nice hotel, recommended by the local business I was visiting. Plus points: view, setting, nice rooms, very polite and professional staff. Negative points: rather poor WiFi in room, seats in room uncomfortable and wrong height for desk (I had to work in the evenings and ended up using a wicker chair from the balcony with a couple of cushions on it!). Food: breakfast okay, if range of hot buffet a bit limited (other options were available to order though). Dinner menu okay too, slightly posh nosh, but I always felt full after eating there, and very drinkable beers. Near to local pubs for food & drink (drivable, not walkable). Very nice sport/leisure facilities, well worth taking your swimming costume or gym gear with you!

Relaxing country location

I enjoyed the view from my balcony each morning. Gorgeous scene of golf course, trees and village church tower in the background. Loved it.

Great Hotel

Great hotel, stayed for one night on a business trip. Lovely surroundings. Room very clean and comfortable. Great food at a reasonable price, breakfast was also good - liked the fact you ordered it rather than a buffet type breakfast.
