Nice hotel

Posted 11-Apr-2015
Was a very nice hotel, rooms clean. But the breakfast was expensive £12.50 per portion. Was nice but just not worth the £12.50 and only 5 hot items and a very basic continental breakfast.

We loved the food in the restaurant. My daughter loved the pools. She swam in it every day.

Shame about the Brasserie

Posted 04-Apr-2015
Pros: The shower and pool, spa, gym facilities.
Cons: As above
Location: Plenty of places to go and eat , good scenery
Went as non Golfers at end of March. Only the Brasserie open for food and very poor. Undercooked chicken and food poorly flavoured - I could have done better easily and I'm no chef. High pricing as well and slow service. I hope they had a staff problem as this would be the only excuse. To be fair they gave us a good discount upon complaint. I suggest just going somewhere local to eat - plenty of choice nearby and better quality and value. Otherwise Spa and pool facilities good, but hotel did smell of chlorine. Bath was huge but uncomfortable but shower was great. The whole place needs a tidying up as it is looking a bit tired, carpets etc. Staff OK

Lovely reception, fun pool facilities, great view

Posted 03-Apr-2015
Staff very friendly, spa was great, waiters great x food a little disappointing as chicken was a little underdone (my friends burger was perfect though). Tea things were a little dirty but only a slight overlook as everything else was spotless. Will definitely be back as great value for money xx

Fantastic hotel, small improvement needed

Posted 22-Mar-2015
Lovely hotel. Room 306 amazing views. Bed too hard & not comfy. Mens swimming changing room needs ceiling cleaned & vents! Lunch menu needs looking at & revising! Loved it & these are small points to bring the hotel up to the level it's stated!

First rate spa

Posted 11-Mar-2015
Cons: Ridiculously overpriced breakfast. Stone Cornish hedges around car parks are appallingly built and in bad repair, not that it will bother most people.
Location: an excellent cheap breakfast can be found in the hideaway café in corner of old market area in Callington
excellent sauna and lane pool. good leisure pool, free sessions in exercise classes for hotel guests... A1

Relaxing night away

Posted 03-Mar-2015
Customer service on reception was amazing restaurant staff were the complete opposite and we only had coffee! bed extremely uncomfortable worst night sleep in a long time and lack of detail to cleaning dirty spoons dirty shower and the joining door left unlocked and leaving our property easily accessible the spa was great although the pool very cold and we couldn't stay in long all in all I don't think we will be returning. Such a shame as the grounds are truly beautiful

Great facilities, some issues with room

Posted 14-Feb-2015
We have just returned for a 2 night stay at the St Mellions Golf club. The hotel itself and all facilities are first class. The rooms however are a different story. The bathroom was tatty, with dirty shower screen seals and dirty uneven tiles. There was some issues with no hot water and a plug socket that was not attached to walk properly. These issues were rectified as soon as we reported. For a hotel of this quality and price bracket the rooms should match. Am have to comment that the staff were so friendly and accommodating. Would return but just hope next room would be better quality.
