“SUPERB Hotel and Resort”

The rooms were very big, big bed, nice view, clean and tidied up everyday. Nice big shower and bath. Huge Spa facility with 3 pools separate for toddlers, kids and adults, steam, sauna and jacuzzi. Well kept and clean. Nice towels. Gym. Massage facility. Lobby was beautiful and comfortable to sit. Nice conference rooms. Gorgeous view from the room. 18 hole golf course at the most scenic place. Tennis courts in the facility Umpteen car parks Courteous and friendly staff I would go back again and would highly recommend it.

We only stayed here for a night. After a long drive in dreadful weather we felt very welcomed by friendly staff. Despite the lateness they couldn't have been more helpful with my son's internet requirements. The view from the room is breath-taking. I imagine the decking area would be a good place to sit and chill in warmer weather. The spa and gym was very good too.

“Fantastic stay at St Mellion Hotel Saltash”

The staff were very welcoming, we had a room with a balcony and it was lovely to be able to open the door fully and let in the fresh air - such a change from hotels that restrict the opening of windows. The room was a good size and the bed was a large zip bed (6 feet wide) an very comfortable. The room came with tea and coffee supplies, biscuits, toiletries and bottled water - again little things that have been stripped from so many other hotels. We also requested a fridge in the room which enabled us to keep fresh milk - so much better than UHT in a cup of tea in the morning. The leisure facilities were also very nice - a 25 metre pool for lane swimming a large splash around pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. After 8pm the facilities were children free. The Brasserie restaurant menu was not really to our taste in terms of atmosphere, prices or menu choices but there are plenty of places local to go to. There were nice lounge spaces where you could get a drink or coffee and we sat and played cards as well as used the free wifi on the laptop we had brought with us.

Great hotel with good leisure facilities. Location peacful but still only 30 minutes from the coast.

“Good to stay but avoid the restaurant”

We (2 Adults and 1 toddler) stayed at the hotel for 6 days and 5 nights and the room was above our expectations. The heating within the room was good but can be improved, the spa, swimming pool, gym were great and the staff at the reception were exceptional! The most dis-appointing feature was the restaurant, there were not many choices and the food was expensive to say the least. There was no flexibility with the kitchen as my wife requested to replace bacon with chicken which was refused on the first day and then agreed on the second day after a strong word with the waiting staff that chicken costs less than bacon! My wife prefers chicken rather than fish or lamb. The fish ordered one day was badly cooked but the wedges were great. The bar served good cocktails and the long island cocktail (not sure about the full cocktail name) was fantastic! We run a business as well and would recommend the hotel for overnight stays but not for the food. Overall, I would recommend the hotel based on the room, staff and leisure facilities available and would return next year!

“Excellent value out-of-season”

We upgraded to a view of the golf course and only wish the weather had been warmer as there was a table and nice chairs on a balcony and would have been really lovely to have a glass of wine out there and watch the golfers! The hotel was clean, the swimming pools were impressive and the food in the brasserie (the only restaurant open mid-week out of season) whilst not excellent was good for the price. All in all the hotel was excellent value.

Very nice hotel, excellent location for my needs, looking forward to the lighter evenings during my next stay so that I can maybe make use of the golf course if possible as it looks amazing.

On the whole I found this hotel extremely clean quiet and comfortable with a warm welcome from friendly and courteous reception staff. Pleasant bar and restaurant area and lovely swimming pools - I tried the family one which was really warm! I would recommend this hotel not only to golfers but to anyone using it as a base to explore Cornwall, Dartmoor, Plymouth and the surrounding area. My only minor criticisms are that the signage both on the approach to the hotel and within could be a little more obvious. I don't normally have problems finding my way around, but it only needed a golfer to be standing in front of the small, low direction signs to send you in the wrong direction. The bedrooms are an add-on to the original clubhouse and again a few more signs would have been helpful.
