“"One Important Tweak and This Place Could Be Perfect"”
The staff was friendly and knew their business; the facility was clean and in good repair; the room was furnished acceptably and supplies well stocked; the property was in a good neighborhood; the price was decent; and the location from there to my destinations in Salt Lake was very convenient. My only real complaint was the bed. I've lodged in facilities all over the country and I am not a picky person, but this bed was notably uncomfortable; from the coverlet being too thin; to the bedding being tucked in too tightly; to the pillows being overstuffed to the point even a single one hurt my neck; and most of all to the unforgiving mattress. The nearest I can describe the mattress was that there wasn't one. It felt more like two box springs stacked one on top of the other. Fix the bed/bedding issue and this place could be perfect.
Area recommendations
Northern parts of the city, along Temple Boulevard are especially nice. I saw many parts of town, however, and was surprised at the high level of personal pride I saw in resident's well-kept yards, etc. While State Street is a busy thoroughfare, such pride was still notable in the area surrounding this property (South Salt Lake City).
When to go
I do not recommend driving there in late February. Unpredictable late winter blizzards made the steep mountain passes through the Wahsatch Range especially treacherous.
Getting around
Salt Lake City is an extremely user-friendly town to drive in. Everything is arranged on a simple N-S-E-W grid. Traffic moves along with few interruptions, and it is not a place one could easily get lost.
