Very good overall hotel perfect for easy access to the ski slopes. A little noise from nearby bar and night club but to be expected in this convenient location.

Hotel should get updated
Room cold and smelled quite bad. Arrived late and left early next morning so did not see much more than the room. Good service at front desk.

Good location in the heart of Ruka. I had a renovated room which added an extra level of comfort even though it wasn’t the most spacious room I’ve been in. The service at the reception was very polite and customer orientated.

Great location next to the slopes and lifts - ski in, ski out. The room was tiny. The floor of the bathroom got totally wet after having a shower. The bed and the pillow were comfortable. Nice breakfast.

We offer variety of room types; from compact standard rooms all the way to the large suites on the 6th floor. If theres availability in more spacious superior rooms, we offer upgrade with a small fee for our guests with a reservation to a standard room while checking in. During the new years this might not have been the case unfortunately, as the week was fully booked. To check the bathroom, we should know the room you were staying in. If you let us know the room number for example by sending us an email, we will send our maintenace team to do their magic in the bathroom! A really pleasant stay
The service was superb! We were hiking nearby and had some special needs regarding our equipment. The staff made sure all our needs were met, and beyond. The hotel had saunas that we could use free of charge which was a pleasant surprise to us. Also the breakfast was amazing, including a large selection of gluten free options.

Hotel has an old side and a new side. New side is decent. Old side is a bit shabby, floors creak and there was no AC in my room. Minibar was empty. Soundproof was so-so. Still doable. Very limited vegan breakfast options if you wish to have something else than lettuce and fruits for breakfast.

Dear Anonymous. Thank you for your review, yes we don´t have AC in the whole hotel, but an mechanical ventilation only, it really shows in the summer time especially. For the breakfast, did you notice our breakfast for all table next to the cold cuts and veggies. Theres plenty not just vegan but also gluten-, dairy-, lactose free products and theres also some beans, veggies and also falafels right next to other warm foods. If you have something that you cant find just ask, our staff will be happy to help with anything. I hope that we´ll get you to visit our hotel again soon. It was the best location you can have it in Ruka. Super comfortable rooms. Very clean bathroom. The breakfast had a lot of options and it was fresh.

Comfy stay after a hike
Stayed for one night after a long hike in the region. Hotel was clean and comfortable, and staff friendly. Would be nice to have some selection in pillows. I found the one provided a bit hard and high.

Nice apartments!
We have booked the apartments and it’s located in a location away from the main building. It’s a short distance to be fair but with the heavy snow and slippery slopes, it is almost impossible to bring our heavy luggages there on our own. There is no luggages delivery services but after much pleading, the hotel finally agreed to help. I hope the hotel can be mindful that foreign tourists don’t drive and we usually arrive with big luggages for a long journey to Finland. It would be better to offer services when needed. The apartment is authentic Finnish style and we love the loft. Beautiful scenery to the pines and slopes. Overall a pleasant and great stay. The location is near to good restaurants such as the Pizzaria Ruka.

Good hotel centrally located in village
Swiss chalet-style hotel with attractive decor in reception/restaurant area and lively atmosphere. Gift shop, sauna and second restaurant also within building. Supermarket, tourist info, sports and gift shops, restaurants and pizza takeaway in ski village complex adjacent to hotel. Bus stop for Kuusamo/airport/Juuma/Oulanka less than 100m from hotel entrance. Start of Karhunkierros trekking route immediately outside hotel - reindeer can be seen grazing on hillside, and in nearby forest on Valtavaara hill birds such as Siberian Jay, hawk owl, hazelhen, three-toed woodpecker etc. Hotel room very spacious, comfortable and warm. Shower/WC room also spacious. Excellent breakfast with good variety of hot and cold food served in main restaurant. Room price very reasonable and good value (visited outside ski season).

Ok in the summer but probably better during winter
We had to walk quite a bit to get to our room. Also we waited quite some time to get our food in the hotel restaurant. The place was generally very quiet during our stay. This is definitely more a winter hotel than a summer residence. Overall an ok stay but not more than that.

Winter Wonderland
2 adults, 4 days for skiing holiday. The hotel is large with several restaurants, karaoke, sauna, spa (massages, manicures etc). There is no pool or spa pool. There is a storage shed outside to keep your skis. The rooms are clean, warm and quiet with warming cupboard for your wet ski clothes. The bathroom is very small, there is no fridge. The beds and pillows were very uncomfortable. There was plenty to choose from at the breakfast buffet. Ruka Village is small with several good restaurants (we recommend Stefans Steakhouse), supermarket, bowling ally and shops. There are lots of activities apart from skiing but they are expensive. There is a shuttle bus waiting at the airport after every flight that will take you directly to Ruka, the shuttle departs Ruka 2 hours before flight departure times. We had an amazing time here, the slopes were quiet and perfect for beginners, intermediates and children. The village is quaint with everything you need.

Nothing "Spectacular" but it is in Ruka!
We arrived and found that our "5 bed apartment" was 400 meters from the main hotel. Four hundred isn't that difficult, but when you're traveling with 2 young children and baggage for a week of skiing it's a little questionable. I was surprised when the receptionist said, "you'll have to get a taxi to your apartment". Immediately I thought, "is there a shuttle?"..... We made it and it was a decent stay.. They need to invest in a shuttle... "Jus'say'n, yo!" This is a typical Rantisipi hotel. It's good because it is located close to ski lifts but it's not "ski in/out". There are other places nearby, which are nicer and more comfortable. !I'm not saying, "pass" on this hotel, I'm just saying, "do your homework!".

Hotel ligt super centraal. Ruime kamers. Goed ontbijt. Maar inrichting gedateerd. Toch zouden wij er weer naartoe gaan. Alles werkt en het ziet er netjes uit. Personeel vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Betere locatie krijg je niet. Goede restaurants, skilift, supermarkt, skiverhuur, bars etc allemaal in de buurt’

Hotelli on vanha,kalustus huoneessa mahdollisesti alkuperäinen,mutta siivottu ihan hyvin. Suihkukaapissa näkyvää hometta,kylpyhuoneen lattialistojen kaakeleissa kulumaa siivoamisesta. Hyvät sängyt,kulahtaneet tyynyt. Ei kovin monta hengaria. Hyvä valikoima kuumia juomia ja sokeria. Viileäkaappi toimii.

Ruskaretkeltä hyviin löylyihin.
Hotelli on kulunut ja jo kaipaisi remonttia. Mutta henkilökunta oli loistava! Samoin ravintolan muikkuannos sekä viinuri Ken. Aamiainen on runsas ja varsin perinteinen. Saunassa on hyvät löylyt ja uskomattoman hyvä ilmanvaihto, tästä oppia ottamaan hotellisaunan rakentajat.

No, siisti vanhempaa modea oleva hotelli. Kaikki toimii niillä ominaisuuksilla mitä hotelliin on aikoinaan asennettu. Nykyään osaa arvostaa sitä jos huonekohtaisesti voi huonelämpötilaa säätää. Yöpymässäni huoneessa tätä mahdollisuutta ei ollut ja siten huoneen lämpötila oli aika korkea! Henkilökunta ystävällistä, aamiainen ok. Sijainti Rukalla 10!

Hei Jari,kiitos asiakasarviostasi ja palautteestasi koskien vierailuasi hotellissamme!Mukava kuulla, että olet viihtynyt hotellissamme, olet ollut tyytyväinen asiakaspalveluumme ja aamiainenkin on ollut ihan mieleinen. Kiitos tärkeästä palautteestasi koskien hotellihuoneen lämpötilaa. Varsinkin helteisinä aikoina, hotellihuoneiden lämpötilat nousevat herkästi korkeiksi. Helpottaaksemme tätä ongelmaa edes hitusen, vastaanotostamme on mahdollista lainata vierailun ajaksi tuuletinta huoneeseen. Pahoittelut, mikäli emme ole maininneet asiasta sisäänkirjautumisen yhteydessä.Mukavaa kesän jatkoa ja toivottavasti näemme taas pian tunturissa! :)

Laskettelumatkalla maaliskuu-2023
Mielestämme ihan siisti ja mukava hotelli. Lasketteluun hyvä sijainti. Suksivarastossa olisi voinut olla Huonekohtaiset lukittavat verkkokaapit tms. Aamupala oli mielestämme hyvätasoinen.
