“Salford Quality”

An excellent hotel well situated for transport links and convenient for Lowry Theatre, gallery and Outlet Mall. Tram stop about 100 yards. Good room, bathroom and quality breakfast. Service good. Our visit slightly marred by slow service at check in due to computer malfunction. Room would benefit from air conditioning as noisy (traffic) with window open

“Copthorne Rocks !!!”

My son's college graduation present was to take him to a ManU home game. The flight and hotel were secondary, however, the staff and room and relative location made the trip! Oh, and ManU beating Chelsea helped !!!!!

Area recommendations

I didn't see a lot of Manchester. The road gutters and areas along the roads in this neighborhood were very dirty and trash strewn. The town needs a trash can and a weed-eater.

“Good stopover just outside Manchester”

The room was very clean and comfortable, although could do with tidying up on the deecorations. Not a problem though. Room was very warm when we arrived in the afternoon as sun was directly on to it and the windows do not open very wide. Staff very pleasant, breakfast very plentifull and good choice, and pleasant to be able to sit outside overlooking the Quays.

“Great place for Man Utd games”

We found this hotel very friendly and convenient for our trip to see Man Utd. Stayed for 3 nights and found all staff friendly, although it was short-staffed one evening which left the bar area without a barman. Nice quiet location which was perfect for us. The outside area was nice and relaxing - probably made a bit better due to the lovely weather. Only down side was that drinks were a little more expensvie than we're used to.

“Not impressed”

The Copthorne appeared to be under-staffed. We had to wait from the beginning to check in, to be seated for dinner and for breakfast. When I rang reception the telephone timed out 3 times until i gave up. Our room was on the ground floor which meant we could not get internet on our computer although we had paid for this. Our room was deemed to be superior because it over-looked the Quays but the room was shabby. Certain corners had not been dusted for a very long time. The bathroom was generally shabby and although it stated that there were toiletries, we had one bottle of shampoo between us and no soap in site.The furniture had seen better days. I would not recommend this hotel.

“Nice break”

The staff were very friendly especially Raj and the chef who cooks the eggs.They both scored 10 out of 10 .The hotel was clean and the breakfast was lovely. Only moan was that they would not take a debit card so you could keep a tab and pay before you leave on drinks etc. The Hotel has so many things within a short distance and the tram is cheap

“Not impressed”

The hotel was advertised as 4 * but this was far from the truth as the room was only a 3*. The bath was chipped and rusty.

“Could do better.”

This hotel has a way to go to match what I would expect from a four-star hotel. The decor, at least of the standard twin room we had, is quite dated - felt I was in some sort of 80s time warp - and in need of a facelift. The breakfast buffet was somewhat limited and not of very good quality (scrambled eggs that looked like cottage cheese, sausages and bacon swimming in grease, not enough fresh fruit, cheese or cold meats). However, I can't fault the service - the staff were uniformly friendly and helpful. A word of warning: check to see what football fixtures are on at Trafford Park during your stay - if the hotel is full of Manchester United (or other) supporters you won't get a wink of sleep. OK, call me a snob, but these weren't the sort of hotel guests I was expecting to encounter!

I booked this hotel specifically because I'd always wanted to see what Salford Quays had to offer. It's a nice walk to places like the Lowry, the Imperial War Museum and the outlet mall, all conveniently close to each other.

“Internet!!!!!!!!”

I found this stay hard work. Free wifi was not in fact free and was very limited. This is very frustrating when the charge for 1 hour blocks of time was around $16 AUD! The room was ok but no individual heating or cooling in the room. It was also relatively noisy because of the ventilation for the kitchen outside the window. I found the staff neither helpful nor unhelpful, forgettable I think is the best description.
