“Salem's most convienient”

I have stayed in other Salem motels, and was at first reluctant to change, but was pleasantly surprised with the Salem Travel Lodge. It was central to everything, was not near the freeway, close to the capital. I would stay there again.

“Good, Bad & Ugly”

Big decent looking motel on the room. Outside is dingy. The office closes from night to morning. Shower did not work and office was closed to be able to report. Owner had to come in with a wrench and tear apart to fix. TV was on a satellite system and I pressed every button and could not not get an image. It had no channel up & down on the remote. Again... problem materialized at night after the office was closed. I paid little and got what I paid for.

“Not at All Worth It”

It was nice of management to let me and my son to check in 1 hour early so we could drop off our luggage and go to Enchanted Forest. But when we came back 4 hours later the whole bathroom sink was full of ants there were thousands and thousands of them. They moved us to another room but there were ants there too!!!

“Affordable and comfortable: What you would want out of a short term stay”

This hotel was a great value for our price. It had full cable, a comfortable bedroom and clean bathroom. The service was friendly and efficient. It is certainly not a 5 star fancy place, but it was perfect for a brief visit.

“Too noisy”

Haven't stayed here for a couple of years and remember now why. The room needs work. Could have been cleaner. Walls in bathroom needed washing down. Did it myself ! Hotel does need a bit of updating. Although my stay was in the beginning of the week, it was very noisy at night. Will not be staying there on my next visit to Salem. I usually vist Salem 3-5 times a year. However on a positive note, the staff was very friendly, helpful and nice.

“great deal”

This hotel exceeded our expectations. It was clean, convenient, and had a decent breakfast. None of it was great, but for the price, it was a great value.

“Not Too Bad”

An okay place to stay for the price. Had no fridge or microwave but did have a coffee maker. It's located downtown so you can either walk or drive to see some of the sights.

“Shower-recommend wearing shoes, toilet handle-broken-questionable neighborhood”

If I was young and broke-maybe. It made me appreciate having a job and making a choice to seek better accomodations. We are not rich. The management was accomodating. The reception area nice. The pool looked fine. When we returned the key, the parking lot was full but I would not recommend this hotel nor location if you can afford something better. Most likely, those who stayed at this hotel, doesn't own a computer.

“OK for just a place to sleep”

Hotel is only few blocks from State Capitol and Willamette University so it is convenient if you are staying in the downtown Salem to visit these sites. Hotel room is sufficiently equipped with comfortable beds, nice large LCD TV, WIFI and AC worked OK. Bathroom was adequate but with shower only and no bath tub. Only problem we had was that the bathroom door could not be closed all the way due to mal-aligned door which made my teenage daughter somewhat embarrassed not to be able to do the things in her own privacy. Only other thing that could be better is if the room could be a little bit brighter since even with all the lights on the whole room was very dim at best. Hotel served some breakfast in the office area though we passed on it due to time constraint.
