Hotel was close to the Heyfield for a family 21st

We were able our all stay in adjoining rooms, which was what we required. Sale was a surprise, as we went to the Critirion Hotel and food was very good, as was the breakfast at a cafe in Raymond str(value for money).

Bates Motel

Pros: Nothing
Cons: Everything
Hotel needs to refurb and come into the 20th century first and then move into the 21st century - checked into room and only had time to leave my bags into hotel as I had to leave to do a job - when I returned and saw the place properly I decided I could not stay the night so drove the 300km home instead. Reception was not open when I left or I would have requested a refund.

Restricted shower time

Posted 14-Dec-2014
Arriving later in the evening, after a ten hour drive, we were extremely disappointed to find that hot water would only last for 7 minutes with a 20 reheat time. That's a challenge we didn't expect - I have long hair and to wash & condition in 3 1/2 minutes was not going to work. I had to continually turn the water off and on, which was not pleasant as it was a cool evening and there was no heater in the bathroom. The management warn that they are conserving water but I find the difficult to believe as the only have full flush toilets and don't use a water-saving shower rose. They'd also be better off not putting any biscuits with the tea/coffee as one individual serve is ridiculous. The only saving grace was the comfort of the bed.

Pros: Good value, suited our requirements. No expense spared though - towels and supplies were absolute basic.
Cons: Service. Both staff members were rude, and the early and inflexible breakfast and checkout timeframes were absurd for a Sunday yet rigidly enforced.
Location: V hard to find from Wotif
Facilities: Nothing special, Basic; Value: Fair price; Service: Rude; Cleanliness: Faultless; Impossible to find from Wotif directions. When we got there, the receptionist said it's in Princess Hwy, not Princes Hwy, which is nonsense!

Pros: Closeness to venue I attended
Cons: Unable to arrange breakfast tables in order to eat with friends
I will only book with the venue from now on as I will not be paying a booking fee on behalf of the venue. That is their concern.
