Walls are too thin and traffic too close.

Posted 10-Jun-2015
Pros: The bed was comfortable with fresh linen and the water was HOT :-) Rooms were large.
Cons: Maintenance, maintenance and more maintenance. Paint was fresh enough, but overall decor and noise left a lot to be desired.
Location: We came up for tennis and didn't see much else. Sale is a smallish town so easy to get around.
Very disappointed with the room as it was too old and not in the best condition and you could hear everything outside. Bathroom door handle was falling off. Room was tidy but there was dirt on a chair and a spill stain on another which could have been wiped clean. Breakfast was open from 8-9am and when we got there at 8, the doors were locked. We pre-paid breakfast but had to hurry so missed out on the first day. Painted brick walls and pictures painted on the walls are not a bonus. I don't expect the Ritz, but it doesn't look like people really care about this hotel to look after it properly. It is in desperate need of a facelift.

Not what you see on the website

Posted 23-Apr-2015 on Wotif
Pros: It was clean
Cons: put locks on all the doors so people feel safe. Upgrade rest of the rooms. have people staying there so you don't feel like the only person on earth
Location: It was a good location as I was there for a funeral which was nearby
The rooms shown on the website must be one of the few that have been done up in a modern way. My room was yellow and turquoise with bronze motif's on the wall. The bedding was clean and new looking and the towel was OK. there was no lock on the door. You and to use a key to get in but that was it in terms of security and considering it had the feeling of the Bates Motel, I would have liked the security of being able to prevent people from letting themselves in. I had to put a chair in front of the door. I didn't check out the facilities as once I walked in the place was deserted - I did not see another soul while I was there other than the person who checked me in. They also need to do a lot of work on the front of the place. The car park looks run down and gives the whole place an old, dodgy motel feel. Definitely not Ibis.

Hotel was close to the Heyfield for a family 21st

We were able our all stay in adjoining rooms, which was what we required. Sale was a surprise, as we went to the Critirion Hotel and food was very good, as was the breakfast at a cafe in Raymond str(value for money).
