This is a great place to stay in the Quartier des Spectacles. The outside isn't much, it's above a sex store, but the rooms are beautiful and newly renovated. Definitely more than we were expecting. We were in Montreal for a music festival and many of the bands and DJs were staying there as well. We picked this hotel for budget and proximity to the venue, but we loved the ambiance and the lovely rooms. Carole at the front desk was amazing, so friendly and helpful. You won't regret staying here! Just to note: if you don't like stairs, book one of the lower floors, but if you're in decent shape, the stairs are not a problem at all. And make sure to get one of the "superior" rooms. There are some older rooms with shared baths, not for everyone. But the newer side has private baths and exposed brick walls. Better than some expensive boutique hotels I've stayed in. I highly recommend this hotel.

This hotel exceeded my expectations. It was very clean, the staff was very helpful and convenient. The location was also very convenient. The Montreal subway is quite convenient so it's no problem getting anywhere downtown.

"Perfect for attending Place Des Arts performances"
We had a 2nd floor Superior room which looked brand new and had a wonderful clean smell of cedar. The staff was super pleasant and helpful, the queen beds were very comfortable, there's a modern thermostat for room temperature, check in and check out was a breeze, the internet was easy to connect to (and fast!) and the location is unbeatable for attending a performance at the Place Des Arts (it's only about 3 blocks away!). There are a bunch of yummy restaurants to choose from (but do make reservations if it's near the weekend) and a big food court with a lot of variety in the mall across from the Place Des Arts as a backup (I recommend the Thai).
We would definitely stay here again, and will call directly to make use of the generous special return guest rate mentioned! Even without a discount it is a great value for all of the benefits described above.

3 nights: very lucky to get a clean corner room (Queen room has bathtub), so excellent day-lighting + enough space for 2 people. enough outlets for re-charging. each brekkie: a warm pc of pre-sliced baguette plus warm croissant, comes w/ peanut butter, jam, butter, honey (i put in coffee), Tea/Cf, juice box. small fridge is handy since IGA Grocery right across street on St Cath has sushi/cold/hot food take out! then i found the food court (lots of choices) beside IGA leads to Berri-Uq Station which was great since it was raining. plus lots of dining choices St Cath, St Denis nearby. room temp perfect as it got cold in MTL in late Sep, has extra blanket in drawer if needed. one front staff was willing to boil water when i needed, thanks !

The appeal of the Hotel isn't in the accommodations as it is in the location and accessibility due to pricing. The rooms are minimal but are clean. It's right on the corner of Rue Sainte Catherine, and there are lots of bars and restaurants right as you walk outside the hotel. This is an ideal place for students to go, as it close to the subway and you can walk around and explore the city. As well, the price is affordable and fair.

Right in the thick of all the happenings downtown Montreal, my room was clean I even did an inspection because of all the hooplah I read on other reviews. The concierge Adam was great and attentive. The room seemed standard room size, the ceilings are really high.

People there are very nice, friendly and welcoming. You can cook there. They provide stoves and fridge, the only thing is that you have to lable your food, or it could be free for everyone else in the hotel. I like their bar. It helds different fun event each night.
