Dining

Morgan's Central Valley Bistro - Located on a balcony overlooking the lobby, this casually elegant atrium restaurant offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily. Breakfast (à la carte and buffet) includes an omelet station. Because of its setting in the restored Public Market Building —as well as its Dungeness crab salad—the restaurant is popular with locals for lunch. The dinner menu reflects California cuisine and ingredients, and an extensive wine list is offered.

Public Market Bar - This lobby lounge overlooking J Street offers bar and table seating as well as light lunches and dinner daily. Tap beer, cocktails, and a wide selection of martinis are available.

Glide's - This coffee shop with floor-to-ceiling windows gets bathed in morning sunshine and offers pastries, snacks, sandwiches, hot and cold drinks, and both indoor and outdoor seating. Open from early morning to mid-afternoon daily.

“One of Sacramento's Finest!”

Being from Sacramento and staying there for the Holiday when visiting was a great experience. Tickets to a comedy show turned up for us during our stay and happened to be located just walking distance to one of the 3-4 primary locations for entertainment. This includes a very nice steakhouse (Morgan's), bar/lounge overlooking the mainstreet (J st). The prices of this hotel are comparable to other chains of hotels with a greater luxurious experience. I recommend you to stay somewhere else so I will be sure to have a room available on my next trip.

“Sacramento Sheraton”

This hotel is a true member of the Starwood family. Beautiful, clean and the most efficient and friendly staff. I would definitely return to this Sheraton amongst others in different cities.

“Not bad”

Overall this was a nice hotel in a perfect location. We booked a "city view" which ended up on the 7th floor overlooking a parking lot and not much "view". Asked for a cab to take us to dinner and the front desk gave us a wrong address. Ended up dropped off 7 blocks from where we needed to be. Sunday morning decided to try the restaurant for breakfast/brunch at 10:15. It was closed from 10-11:30. Walked to the Hyatt and had breakfast there. When booking the room Hyatt had a better deal but I decided to try this instead. No sure I would stay here again if it were more expensive.

“Satistifed in Sacramento”

This hotel was in a perfect location to amazing farm to table restaurants (try the Grange or Thir13en)...the staff was amazingly helpful, the bed was the most comfortable hotel bed I have slepped in and was close to the Convention Center and great. Will stay here again...Try some of the tours like the local roots food tours and request our amazing tour guide Bethany for a gastronomic and historical walking adventure...And it is amazingly close to Napa...When I travel to Napa, I will always fly into Sacamento, stay at this hotel, eat amazing food and be close to the airport....

Area recommendations
This is in the downtown area convenient to everything.
Dining
The dining in Sacramento is amazing (who knew it was such a foodie mecca)...The city has many amazing farm to table restaurants. The Grange is a great example of this...How can the figs or blue cheese taste so good?.. or Morgan's restaurant (don't miss the mac and cheese with truffle oil) or Thir13een try one of the amazing cocktails or oysters or the niman ranch pork chop...While the wine lists are often interesting, you can also bring your own bottle for a corkage fee. For a tradtional huge Italian feast in a local (non fancy) Italian deli try one of the dinners at Sampinos. Try hip comfort food at Cafeteria 15Lor the upscale Mulvany's...or the Firehouse,..or Ella

“Great stay and location”

Great location near the capitol building and near a lot of great restaurants (like Ella's and McCormick & Schmicks). My only gripe was that they didn't have 24 hour room service and the valet could get a little backed up into the busy street. Those are just two things to keep in mind, but it is still the best place to stay in Sacramento.

“was ok”

There was a convention in the area. That Friday night the restaurant wasn't open. There were no places open to get a bite to eat after convention about 10 p.m. There were so many people trying to get in the elevators to get to their rooms. We asked if we could take stair ways. It took forever to get an answer. Then finally some show us the stair ways. You have to go out of the hotel. The stairways were dirty and old like a parking garage. (Our room was on the 20th floor).

“Very disappointed”

I expected a nice stay here, it's a Sheraton. *"Hotel parking" is $18/day with no notice until after you've already paid(Non hotel parking nearby is $10/day). *Paid for a club level(25th 26th floor) room. Was given one on the 9th floor, no club access, and was told I hadn't signed up for a Club Level room. I showed them my expedia purchase and they corrected it. The included club level breakfast is a joke, I've had better continental breakfasts at a Super8 motel. *Bed was extremely uncomfortable. Stiff, with no mattress pad and felt like polyester satine sheets. I thought I was paying more to stay at a nicer hotel, but it's not, it's just downtown. With that said, there are other hotels downtown around the same price that I'll stay at next time.
