Great location, comfortable beds, thin floors

Posted 23-Jan-2015
Pros: Convenience! The beds and pillows were amazingly comfortable. Enjoyed the Barney Kenet bath products.
Cons: Difficult to do, but additional insulation between rooms might help.
Location: Because of the hotel's location, we could walk to our destinations.
Visited Davis to attend a performance at the Mondavi center and tour the campus with my daughter. We loved everything about this hotel EXCEPT the floors seemed thin. We stayed on the 3rd floor and the people above us walked unusually heavily and rarely stopped. We thought it was strange that they would walk so much, no matter the time, but it never seemed to end. It was loud enough to wake us through the night. Not sure if this was a "people" issue or a thin floor issue. We stayed only one night otherwise i would have asked to move to 4th (top) floor. A train also runs across the street from the hotel which may bother some but paled in comparison to the heavy, constant walking.

Right on UC Davis campus

Posted 23-Jan-2015
This is a basic but very well kept and run hotel on the edge of the UC Davis campus; it is the place to stay when visiting the university. Facilities are what you'd expect, probably better than most medium priced chain hotels. Staff are amazingly friendly and helpful. Only downside is the noisy trains that run by at night and create quite a racket; try and get a room facing the back of the hotel, which is the UC Davis arboretum (a very nice place to walk by the way).

Everything was excellent but the only downside was lack of full service restaurant after a long day.

Nice hotel on campus

New, clean, nice amenities. Only downside-pretty big though-it took almost 5 minutes to get hot water: the shower! Had to open all spigots and wait 5 minutes.

Shiny new place on campus

Posted 07-Jan-2015
Pros: roomy, quiet place when school is off.
Cons: breakfast area is a bit small.
We stayed there on new years eve so not too many guests. The room is big and have the large sofa bed, we were happy with it.

Pros: Location, cleanliness, and the courteous staff.
Cons: The food was dry, stale and unappetizing. All the food was set out uncovered and exposed. We arrived in dining room at 8:00.
Location: Downtown was close by as was the university.
Overall our stay met our expectations. I would highly recommend this hotel.
