“Beautiful Rushcutters Bay”
Although the bathroom was a little tired, the bedroom was modern and very comfortable.Sunday night was quiet in the bar and restaurant but on Monday evening a happy crowd was enjoying cocktails. I hope to go back to Sydney soon and will look to Expedia again for a great rate on this hotel.
“A good value convenient hotel”
A good value tourist hotel alongside a beautiful harbour-side park in an area of multi million dollar homes and lovely old Paddo terraces- great walking & the stunning local yacht club welcomes non-members for cofee on their deck and also meals. McKell Park on Darling Point is habour-side spectacular. Rooms aren't big but were spotless & well equipped, fresh bedding & towels every day and housekeeping requests answered immediately. Hallways & carpets a bit tired. Rooftop harbour-view pool & terrace great. Desk staff very helpful - we stayed twice 4 days apart and were remembered by name. We did B&B, lots of the usual buffet choice and eggs to order. Restaurant was always empty at night and needs a more laid back menu (like pasta, eastern, Thai, pizza) & warmer atmosphere as it's a good steep uphill walk to Kings Cross after a busy day and many eateries close Monday - it could be so good instead of a wasted space. Really enjoyed the excellent friendly buzzy pizza restaurant opposite. Access to the city is quick by bus opposite the door, all go to Circular Quay along the downtown area so you can get off wherever you need, tickets are multi-use bus/train/ferry all day ($2.50 for seniors). Train is a 15 minute uphill walk, same tickets. We enjoyed our stay, a good find, and will return as we visit family locally each year.
“Delroy's 2010 visit to Sydney's Eastern Suburbs.”
Overall, we enjoyed our stay at The Vibe, Rushcutters. The hotel was in a good location and staff were generally very friendly and helpful. Room was cleaned fastidiously every day with fresh linen as required. The roof-top pool, although small, was a great getaway with all-round views of Rushcutters Bay and the City and fresh towels were readily available at the pool level. Biggest frustration was trying to use the lifts, particularly to pool/gym level as the only lift out of three for that facility was playing up and locked stairwell access prohibited a simple, one-floor walk from our level 6 room. The choice of restaurant fayre was fairly limited and expensive for what it was. The worst element, we discovered to our amazement, was the exchange rate at the Reception desk. Use ATM's or other Bureau De Changes elsewhere. Taxis were virtually always waiting at the front of the hotel but again were quite expensive compared to using local transport. There was a bus stop outside the hotel which was midway between two train stations, about 15 mins walk either way. We would recommend the hotel to others, especially if you want to be a lille way out of the City and near the eastern suburb beaches.
“Good hotel in lovely location”
As a lady on her own, I felt very comfortable with both the hotel and surrounding area. I found the staff very helpful and friendly. The hotel is very accessible for the train and within walking distance of the centre of Sydney. I ate in the hotel plus room service a few times, I thought the general standard was very good. I liked the fact that the swimming pool and fitness centre were on the rooftop, made exercising almost a pleasure! I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel - I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would definitely stay there again if I visited Sydney.
“Holiday in Sydney”
The hotel is located on a beautiful area with easy access into the city centre via public transport. The hotel reception staff were friendly and helpful. One of the staff working in the dining area needs training in customer services on how to communicate politely and respectfully with customers on an appropriate and acceptable international level. Generally lovely hotel located adjacent to a lovely park.
“Offer price made it good value”
While the service was good we had to keep going to reception to ask for things to be replaced. There was no plug in the sink and the room was laid up for one person not two but all requests were dealt with very quickly. Overall we enjoyed our stay and it is accessible but if we had paid full price we would have expected a lot more. The rooftop pool and gym were a great feature and made for a pleasant relaxing afternoon after the delights of walking round Sydney.
