“Great hotel but fare away from attraction.”

The hotel was great, nice room (American size room) with tub and curtain. The breakfast had a huge selection of items. One of the best breakfast I got in Europe. The hotel is about 10 minutes walk from the train station. It's not bad to walk to Rotterdam port or the tower or the old area of town but it is a walk, we had to take the tram back. They're is no restaurants around the hotel beside the one at the hotel (did not try it).

“Great breakfast, but slightly run down”

The Best Western Crown is a rambling old-style hotel. Apart from ignoring my booking request (when a non-smoking quiet room at the back turned into a smoking room on the front corner) it was OK, and they did change my room quite happily to one that met the original request. The aircon can be a bit noisy, and there's no way of shutting it off in the bathroom. (No plug in the bath, so had to use it as a shower.) And although the hotel was clean, it just felt a little run down. But the location is good, close to the centre and Rotterdam C. station, and the buffet breakfast was one of the best I have had for a hotel in its price range. Take your own decaf coffee though - as with many places in Holland, it's hard to find.

best western crown is a 5 minute walk from the train station. the staff were great and the free break fast and internet were of true value. the bar and the restaurant of the hotel were reasonable and convinient. several restaurants are also just a short walk from the hotel. in front of the hotel is a nice pond and garden that streatches all the way to the train station. if you find the pond then you'll find the hotel easy. with that said, if youre looking for the familiar best western logo/sign of blue and gold/yellow you'll never find it cause there is none. if would have been easier and more convinient to find that familiar sign outside the establishment.

“Unimpressed”

The hotel building was old, and the rooms dated. Air conditioning was almost nonexistant, but the bed was comfortable. For the price, it was very disappointing. The staff was outstanding and very helpful.

“A superb hotel in a nice neighborhood”

The room was large by European standard. Air conditioner worked great. Wireless internet is first rate. Breakfast was sumptuous! The hotel is very close to the train station and city center. All places can be reached on foot.

“Terrible rooms”

The hotel is well situated, and most of the communal areas are satisfactory. Staff were generally helpful, although breakfast waiting staff could do with some customer service training. The room however was awful. Old and grubby. Desperate need of renovation. Looking at other reviews on line it appears the hotel has a mixture of refurbished and old rooms. If you book into this hotel make sure you insist on having a refurbished room.

“Unimpressed and lacking customer service”

Best thing of this hotle was the breakfast with everything else less than average. Largge clock in room did not work until I had them correct this. Tissue paper in dispencer on arrival had only two tissues in it, was not replaced even on the second day of my stay until again I had ot make an issue of it at the front desk. On the two occasions I had to go to the front desk , two staff members there were having a discussion and they continued it while I as a customer just had to wait. I had had a coffee in the room on day one of my stay and non of it was replaced for cream, sugar and coffee.. Used cup was also not replaced. When i went down to ask for replacement I was handed ,without as much as as a sorry about that., 4 creams, 4 sugars, 4 instant coffee pouches and abox of tissues so I had to go back to my room ,hands full to dropit off as front desj could not arrange to have it placed in my room. I rec'd one key for the room which also controls the electrical power to the room so when you leave the air conditioner automatically shhuts off. You can get a second key to the room so this does not happen but again I had to ask for this . Why would they not as a service tell you this at check in and then give you two room keys to start. Just seems like an uncariong place to stay. Each year I psend two nights in Rotterdam, and woudl only stay here again if it was the last rooms available in town.
