Cheap place to stay

Posted 29-Jul-2015
Pros: Free internet. Cheap place to stay the night if on a tight budget.
Cons: Facilities. More lights on the whole compound as it is really scary at night. One person to stay/answer phone at reception to avoid customers waiting.
Location: Location is good. Close to everything that needs to be visited in Rotorua.
Arrived around 1700 then had to wait for half an hour for someone in reception to come over. No one even answers the phone when rang. Was seriously going to leave if not for the fact that I have already paid online. John came after a while of waiting and he was very accommodating and friendly, he even told us not to worry about the checkout time at 1000 tomorrow and just sleep-in and leave midday. This plus John being a nice person alleviated my disappointment because of waiting. He gave us the keys to our room then we went. Going straight to the point the room is old, bed sheets were clean but old, room amenities were all working fine and clean but old. All in all if you are on a tight budget I would recommend staying here at least you still have your private room, toilet, shower, free internet but if you can spare more then suggest you look for more up to date accommodation as the place is really outdated and needs some major upgrading.

Don't know what probs there are!,,,,

Posted 18-Jul-2015
Pros: The cleaning staff were very cool, and assisted in what ever way they could, this made the experience a little more durable, thankyou cleaning ladies
One thing about booking online is you don't get to know what problems the motel is having at that time, we arrived to find no spa's as they were under construction, no gym, and no restruant facilities so we had to go out for breakfast and dinner. The reason why I choose was for spa and easy access to eating facilities. Very poor. The out side pool on first day was not as warm as it indicated, but luckily the last two days it was. The cleaning staff also thought we were leaving the next day, ?....lack of communication

Worst Customer Service

Posted 15-Jul-2015
Pros: Absolutely nothing
Cons: Everything from customer service more people attending to calls and longer check-in
Do not book this hotel, they take money without you even staying at their hotel.

Motel was adequate

Posted 12-Jul-2015
Pros: The pool.
Cons: Condition of the room was substandard.
Location: A bit far from anything other than Whaka. Walked into the city a couple of times but a bit far. Basically had to drive everywhere.
The room was shabby, poorly maintained and cleaned. The staff were friendly but not overly efficient. The mini golf was a fun novelty, marred by the inconsistency of equipment. The pool was great. It was quite a walk to get to anything and the split street outside the motel provided complexity in manoeuvring by car. Every night we had to chase the staff for towels, which were removed in the morning but not replaced until the evening. The room was warm, but the temperature fluctuated during the night, so you could wake up cold in the middle of the night. The cupboard in the living room was warm, with hot water pipes running through it, but the wardrobe in the bedroom had no ceiling so was freezing. You wouldn't want to put your clothes there!

Nice hotel, great for our stay.

After a couple of minor hitches that were sorted out quickly, we enjoyed a stay that matched with many different motels. We loved the very warm unit, a comfortable clean bed, the room size and the spa pool. Everything we needed.

Cons: General maintenance, cleaner, things topped up like salt and pepper, dishwash liquid.
I felt I got what I paid for and would stay there again. $130 per night for a two bedroom family unit is great value and I wasn't expecting a great room. It's helpful with kids to get a room a bit run down so I don't have to worry about the slightest drop of food or drink. The room needed a bit of maintenance and could have being cleaner. Overall for what I paid, this was good value. We loved the well maintained pool.

Out dated hotel

Posted 02-Jul-2015
Pros: The shower
Cons: The décor and service
Location: Location on Fenton St, with most other hotels. The location suited us.
The décor dated in the 70's. The carpet needs TLC maintenance work and furniture. The bed and room was good enough to stay in. I must say that the shower was great, good pressure and heat. I did request an extra towel and pillow from the hotel manager but didn't receive it. I didn't book this Hotel and if I had looked at post reviews about this Hotel I wouldn't of considered it as there are so many better hotels on the same street as this one. So overall not impressed.

Didn't get to stay there

Posted 24-Jun-2015
Pros: Nothing
Cons: The facilities, cleanliness and the outdoor area for the SPA.
i had booked accomodation in May for our road trip, so the hotel had enough time to ensure they had the room. I got a call at 4pm on the day we were to book in by the receptionist, advising that the Spa was not working and they did not have the room available that was booked,so they had a neighbouring hotel that would take us in, i advised the receptionist that i would discuss this with my partner and call her back, the manager who had been talking in the background the whole time, grabbed the phone and pretty much told us that we couldn't stay there, and the other room had already been booked, but this had updatirs downstairs and a private deck with Spa. I felt bullied into staying and had to make the decision on the spot. When we arrived at our new accomodation, the spa on the deck, was like a bath, with holes in the roof and the rain coming through. We had breakfast included in our room fee, but this was not at the hotel we had been moved to but to another hotel (not original one either) up the road - it was all a little pushy and rushed and not very organised, and i felt very dissappointed with the whole process. The lady at reception where we moved to was lovely, but the conditions weren't that great
