Two bedroom unit

Posted 15-Apr-2015
Pros: Location was satisfactory, expansive grounds and room size
Cons: Complete renovation of this family unit would be required.
Location: Close to shopping and all tourist venues.
Very tired and dilapidated family 2 bedroom unit. Fittings and furniture were all extremely worn and general condition of the unit was very unsatisfactory. Advertisement on Expedia re facilities and overall rating was not what was delivered. Not enough towels were left in the family unit so had to ask at the office. An old stained Toaster and new rubbish bags were delivered to the unit late afternoon.

Problems straight off the bat waiting for 15+ minutes with nobody anywhere in sight to then be accused of lying about it. rooms are in need for a good spruce up along with the rest of the facilities. Would be a last resort to stay again

leaking faulty towers DONT stay here worst exp eva

Pros: Nothing!
Cons: the plumbing! the place leaks like a sieve. the toilet in our final room leaked water all over the floor. the sink in our first room did not drain
Location: Rotorua is an amazing part of the world. The mud pools were amazug
From the minute we checked in we knew this was a mistake! We noticed that our room number had been changed 3 times, I made a comment saying that I hoped we had not been down graded. I had booked a jetted spa studio...so on arrival I went straight to the spa...firstly I had to shoulder the door open. by the look of the weeds growing out of the crack on the surrounding slate I knew it wasn't going to be good. The tap to fill the spa wasn't working. I went to complain. the manager convinced me that he would send us to the Polynesian spa for free and tomorrow give us an upgrade as the hotel was full, he also threw in a free breakfast and wifi.so I accepted as it was Easter time and very busy in Rotorua and we had noticed that many hotels had no vacancies and the manager seemed genuine. In the morning we were awoken by our toilet gurgling loudly as somewhere someone had flushed their toilet, then our shower compartment began leaking from the fan vent because the shower upstairs was being used. The following day we were upgraded to a larger room with a better bathroom and 2 single beds in a separate room. Again I went to check out the spa. There was a huge hole in the rim where the spa button should have been and cracks along the seats. So again I went to ask how the spa was to be operated. Then the lies began. the manager said he had only found out that evening that the spa wasn't operational. He then moved us to the room that had been the number we had originally been allocated.

Pros: nothing. There was nothing appealing about this place. The photos on the website did not match the accommodation.
Cons: Complete Refurbishment
In summary, we encountered the following: 1. Dirty carpet in the main living area. There were stains as well, but the main problem was the filthy condition of the carpet. They were soiled carpets that hadn’t been vacuumed. 2. Dirty blinds in kitchen. When I adjusted them, dirt and dust fell onto the kitchen bench. 3. All light fittings had numerous dead insects inside. Obviously never been cleaned out. 4. Leaking heater in main bedroom. Carpet was damp and mouldy. This has been a problem for a long time for the carpet to be mouldy. 5. Dead insects on the walls and ceilings. 6. The Shower had not been cleaned and scrubbed properly for a long time. You could scrap through the soap scum that had built up. 7. Bird mess on the bathroom windows. The window opens up all the way. You could easily get your arm out and wipe it off. It was hard and baked on. Not fresh. It has been there for a while. 8. The couch bed in the living room was completely unusable as a couch and bed. The frame was damaged. The cushioning was flat and deformed and it was very filthy. This left nowhere to sit in the living room. 9. There were dead insects on the window sills as well and live bugs here and there. I also counted 3 fleas on my lower leg at one point. We cancelled our accommodation and went elsewhere

You get what you pay for

Posted 11-Apr-2015
Pros: Location good, price cheap
Cons: Renovation of property and units.
Whilst payment for this room was cheap we were disappointed with a couple of things. TV did not have remote and we then upgraded to another room to give the kids their own room only to find the television is this room did also not work. A TV that did work was then taken from another room and hubbie was happy. Room was serviced but for some reason kids beds not made (however ours was). We enjoyed a soak in the heated pool however this did need cleaning so we didn't stay long as could feel the grime under our feet. The next day the kids were looking forward to a soak and it had a sign up closed due to cleaning maintenance (the office said they would let us know when available, we never heard from them again). We went out for the day and upon our return still no action on the pool so no late night soak for us. Room was okayish, stains on carpet, and loose tap in bathroom. Everything else was satisfactory and at the end of the day we were only there to sleep in the evenings.

A few issues

Posted 07-Apr-2015
This is a very basic and hotel and in need of a massive upgrade, which I guess is reflected in the reasonable pricing. The pool is great minus the surface coming off in some parts, although the tennis court/mini golf is very old and has not been maintained, the gym has also not been open for awhile due to "renovation". The rooms are ok, also in need of an update but for the most part are clean etc. Although our room was fine, our friend stayed at the same time and had many issues with their room including a clogged shower, broken toilet seat and the curtain rail fell off as it was never secured into the wall to begin with. The resturant also did not seem to be opened during our stay, which did seem odd considering it was a busy time (over easter) and the hotel was fully booked. I probably would stay again due to the price, although its nice to know exactly what you're paying for.
