Pros: The pool was lovely
Upon arrival staff were very friendly and we were given the choice out of two rooms, the room we choose was clean, the sheets and blankets were fresh. Sadly our jug did not work and requested a new one which never turned up. room also had no tv remote. The pool was lovely and so were in the in room spa's the only disappointment with the spa room is there was no type of ventilation as the room was boxed in, there was a sliding door that was quite hard to open but the hotel next door could see right in, there were also cigarette butts over the ground and empty alcohol cans/bottles from previous people. But overall for the price and us only being there for one night, it was an enjoyable stay.

Budget accommodation for budget price.

Pros: Kids enjoyed the mini golf and outdoor heated swimming pool
Cons: As above.
Room requires upgrading. Kitchen tap was loose (moved approx. 45 degrees when turning off and on). Double bed was located in lounge/kitchen with 2 singles in bedroom, however there were no window coverings on the kitchen to be able to close out the light at night. The shower floor was unsupported underneath which felt like the floor was going to give way. There were ants on the kitchen bench. There was no TV remote control in the room which we had to request from Reception. The fully enclosed outdoor spa bath area became extremely hot in the afternoon as a result of sun on the roof and insufficient ventilation. There was no information booklet in the room so we did not know what facilities were on offer, in particular, when the restaurant was open for breakfast. There was a telephone in the bedroom however this was unconnected.

Needs renovating, very tired hotel

Posted 21-Mar-2015
I've got very mixed feelings about my stay here. Generally, the place is VERY tired and needs work to restore it to former glories(I could tell that maybe in the mid 80s, or whenever the place was constructed, it would have been a wonderful place to stay). The gym was out of the action, the restaurant was being renovated(hopefully a sign of what's to come) and the condition of my room was not great. The sink was cracking, as was the hot tub, the hot tub jets didn't work. The bath and sink were not draining well either. Many little areas of tiredness showing, no plug chains, microwave missing a foot, no TV remote, all the TV buttons were skewed and actually did the function next to it. The guy on reception wasn't all that genuine in his friendliness either, would ask me a question as if interested, but then wouldn't actually make any real effort to listen. All that said, the bed was very comfortable and I slept well both nights.

Would not recommend.

Pros: It looks nice from the street.
Cons: To replace the manager because I don't believe an effective manager would have allowed a place with such potential to deteriorate the way it has.
Location: Rotorua is right in the centre of the Thermal Wonderland with wonderful places to visit & many activities to do.
I stayed here last year & enjoyed the experience but it has deteriorated considerably since then. I arrived at 2.40pm to be told that the room wasn't ready yet & told I could play a game of mini golf until it was ready. I returned to reception at about 3pm for check in & asked for the wifi password, the manager advised me that their internet was down at the moment but his "computer guy" was working on it & he would come to my room with the password as soon as it was ready, 7.30pm I returned to reception to be told the same thing, next morning I told the manager that internet access was a primary consideration in my selection of motels & that if wifi was not going to be available I would like a refund for the remainder of my booking & I would look for alternative accommodation only to be assured that his guy will get it fixed "today" suffice to say it did not happen & the only consolation offered was that he would arrange the bookings for our activities & would not charge for doing it. The room was reasonably clean but badly in need of renovation/repairs. A shame to see a place with such potential deteriorate to the extent that this one has.

Never, ever, again

Posted 20-Mar-2015
Pros: Not a lot, it was conveniently located, but so are lots of others and we will choose another next time.
Cons: The whole shebang needs a good do-up. There were individual spa pools there which were not open.
Location: Main accommodation street in Rotorua. Handy to lots of activities.
On entry, lace curtains were grubby, drapes were too and needed rehanging. Doorbell cover missing and exposed wires. Bathroom- shower cubicle was not clean, tray filled and overflowed. Shaver plug was not working, one other available but no mirror in reach. A badly cracked light switch. Only two towels and one bathmat - no flannels, they were given on request. Hot pool was available and we used it, but a sign told us we couldn't use their towels for the pool. Basin tap was wobbly and worn, past due for replacement. Bed - No mattress cover - this is terribly unhygienic in a hotel room, the sheet was directly over the mattress. Base cover was torn and foam showing. Only one bed light worked, and the other one was missing a switch - tape covered where the switch should have been. Kitchen- The fridge was boxed in, not switched on, and we couldn't see how or where to plug it in. Fortunately we didn't have a bottle of wine to cool- there was only one wine glass to use. And if we had wanted to watch tv we would have been out of luck, we couldn't figure out how to turn it on and there was no remote.

A few Concerns

Posted 15-Mar-2015
Pros: The location was good as it was closer to the venue of the Wedding which we were attending at Rotorua.
Cons: The mattress on the bed in the bedroom was old and as you turn and you can hear the spring on the mattress. The TV did not have any Remote Control.
Location: Fantastic Location - Closer to everything.
When we arrived the booking was not there and we were asked who did we make the booking with and we were also asked about the payment. We were not well received may be because I was a brown skinned woman - things changed when my husband came in and he was a White European gentleman. I was not very happy to be treated that way as I have been living in NZ for the past 40 years and married to a New Zealander. The man behind the counter was an Indian gentleman and I can tell from his accent he has not been in NZ for that long. The booking was made through your Website as well as the payment. Not very happy at all. We waited for quite a while whilst the booking was being sorted. I was not prepared to pay again. At the end he gave us the key to our room.

Stay Away!

Posted 15-Mar-2015
Pros: Clean sheets.
Cons: Everything. Room needed complete re-do.
The only good thing I can say about this place is the sheets were white, crisp and clean. Terribly run down and dirty. Wouldn't sit on couch. Room obviously had a long-term tenant who cooked with curry because the room stunk of curry. Tile floor in kitchen was sticky, oily. Don't stay here if you can avoid it!
