“Perfect base from which to explore all the delights”

A very comfortable and inviting room with everything you need on hand. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. A terrific location in the heart of the Hunter wine region providing a perfect base from which to explore the area and all its delights. Would gladly return.

“Life in the Vinyards”

Recently stayed at the Chateau Elan which is located in The Vintage Resort, Rothbury, in the Hunter Valley about 2.5 hrs from Sydney. It is a very popular place for weddings and the Hotel has Honeymoon Theme rooms in the main complex and 10 Villas behind the main complex. I stayed in a king villa which was huge. It had a balcony which over looked the golf course. The bedroom and bathroom were very spacious and comfortable. Only downside was that the pillows are rather dense and heavy. The room was very well maintained and the staff were extremely helpful. While there I also had a Balinese Palm massage which was fabulous! Would recommend the Chateau Elan to anyone, it is not far from Broke Road which is very convenient to many wineries and for those who like to play golf, it is right outside your door!

“Not worth the money”

Swift and easy check in. Were allocated rooms a little further down the road of the complex. Room was very large with a lovely view over the golf course. Slight setback was that the spa didn't work properly and kept spraying water all over the bathroom and when cleaners came to clean the room bathroom amentities were not refilled. For a hotel that is supposed to be "4 star" I didn't really rate it so think you can do better for your money in the Hunter. It was convenient for us as we went to a concert at Bimbadgen next door (so within walking distance) but I think there are better places to stay.
