The most fabulous vacation!!! The staff couldn't be more friendly, food was fantastic......and 12 restaurants . Wow!! The property is beyond beautiful. I wanted a resort close to the airport so as not to have a long commute. It is 20 minutes away and never heard plane noise.....perfect! We got upgraded to an incredible suite that was roomier than my home! The swim up pool was an extra surprise. All in all the best vacation EVER. Everyone who saw my pictures wants to go...!!!
My husband and I came here for our "babymoon" while family watched our other daughter. Our first experience with the hotel, at the airport shuttle area was wonderful. They automatically offered us drinks while we waited for the shuttle to come back to the airport to pick us up. The staff here was wonderful, patient, and seemed like they had everything under control, despite how hectic it looked to me. When we arrived at the hotel, check in was a breeze, and our room was even upgraded to an ocean view junior suite, which also over looked the stage. The stage was loud at night, and continued until around 10 or 11pm every night, but It's vacation, and some people like to party. If you want a quiet room, call the hotel and request a room away from the stage. My experience with this hotel was wonderful though. The staff was very attentive at the restaurants located here, the bartenders were great (also attentive), the guys working at the sailing, SUP, and windsurfing hut were very awesome! My husband wanted to try windsurfing and the guy helping him was just amazing. I watched my husband try to do this for AT LEAST two hours, and this wonderfully patient man had a smile on his face the entire time, and even told my husband to come back the next morning to try again! There is not one negative thing I could say about the staff at this resort. I also don't know why people have complained about the WIFI, I even had wifi on my phone at the beach!
My husband and I just returned from a 5-day sojourn at the Half Moon. It was the best resort experience I have ever had. The HM is in the grand hotel tradition--all white columns, and a huge open portico of which one end is the sea. It is beautifully landscaped with tropical flowers and various kinds of palm trees. It has wonderful and numerous facilities that are carefully maintained--golf, tennis, horseback riding, water sports. I'm not an athlete and I spent most of my time swimming--there is a huge lap pool, and another next to it with a swim-up bar, and another pool next to it, with a swim-up bar. There is also a lovely section of beach that is reserved for swimmers. The chaises are comfortable and spotless.
The food was excellent and beautifully presented. I also used the spa services. I had come to Jamaica for a badly needed rest, but I was still interested to get off the resort to see some local sights (Jamaica is a fascinating country), and the hotel also us with a driver who took us around.
I took my wife and 5 year old daughter. Friendly staff great food and excellent staff. Small beach left the resort and went to another beach. Doctors Cave; but very clean private and comfortable resort.
Only stayed one night but was great. Clyde, the inn keeper/cook, was absolutely awesome! Aki and fish for breakfast on the patio was delicious. He also gave us very good directions to get to Appleton Estates. Rooms were clean and comfortable. We were out all day and just in for the night. If you were planning on staying around the inn day after day may not be the best place. But for us it was perfect.
Also on Jamaica’s north coast is Rose Hall. Primarily a resort town, visitors can take in the area’s beautiful beaches, as well as sail, swim, or snorkel in the Caribbean’s turquoise waters. Birdwatchers will revel in the countless species of tropical birds here. Music lovers also can’t go wrong in Jamaica, home to reggae, a combination of rhythm and blues, rock steady, and ska.
