“Birthday treat at the Vista Palace Hotel”

After ready some of the reviews of this hotel on line I was concerned how it would be when I got there. I read of unfriendly staff, small rooms and shabby and being very remote. I was only staying for 1 night but I thought the hotel was fantastic. People will book this hotel mainly for the views and you will not be disappointed. We ate in the restaurant and had a great time although conversation will suffer as you are too busy taking in the views!! The room was great and I think the people that complained were probably from the US and are used to much larger rooms. But for me I thought they were more than adequate, clean and also had amazing views. The décor is a little 80's but not dirty or tatty in any way so I cant see any problem with them. The staff at reception couldn't have been more helpful. I emailed them from Monte Carlo asking them to arrange the shuttle bus to collect me when I was ready to check in and this was arranged with no problems. As the title says I booked this hotel as a stop over during a trip to the south of France for my partners birthday. She absolutely loved the hotel too and has rated this as 1 of her top 5 hotels, so it cant be that bad!! The hotel is remote but it has to be to get the spectacular views, the distance from Monte Carlo just has to be a trade off and one that it worth taking in my opinion. The hotel does offer the shuttle service which I think runs every half hour so if you plan your day around these there should be a problem.
