“The Best!”

This hotel is conveniently located in one of the biggest shopping areas of Rome; a couple of blocks away from the Spanish steps and Piazza Popolo, extremely close to everything. The service is exceptional and the breakfast buffet delicious! Everyone at the front desk is helpful and very friendly. Without a doubt, I will definitely be staying here on my next visit to Rome. I recommend this hotel to anyone! The metro station is also a couple of blocks away; my mother and I took it to get to the Coliseum. Great price for the location, and service; the room was small but this is how most hotels are in Rome, the space was more than enough for my mother and I. Overall, I just have great things to say about Valadier!!!!

“Superb, convenient location”

Great location. Walkable to most sights and very near Metro. Spotless rooms and best European buffet breakfast I've seen. Staff good and friendly. Only minor complaints are room small and dark and shower pathetic!

“Convenient Location and very clean!!”

Very nice Hotel. European Hotels are not as comfortable and dot not have big rooms like USA hotels but overall we were very satisfy with our Valadier stay . We stayed in a triple room, it has dissent size, it was very clean and has a big bathroom "European standard".The location was excellent the service was great and the breakfast delicious. Only complain is that we were on the 2nd floor and we hear the music from the hotel bar.

“Very nice hotel in a great location”

Based on reviews from others on several websites, I booked a 1-week stay at The Valadier. It was just as expected! The room was small but very comfortable, clean, and cozy. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful when I asked for assistance setting up tours and finding my way around town. The hotel breakfast was very good and offered a wide variety of food and drink that was more than enough to start off the day. I ate at two of the hotel restaurants, and the food and service were great. The hotel location was outstanding! Walking distance to several sites and the hop on/hop off buses, and a nice shopping area with plenty of outdoor cafes and cobblestone side streets to explore. I am recommending it to all my friends and hope to stay there again if I take another trip to Rome in the near future. The room cost more than some other hotels on offer, but I left feeling like it was worth the extra expense. I was completely satisfied.

Getting around
The hop on / hop off bus tours were very convenient. I bought two 72-hour passes during my 7-day trip in order to have paid transportation around town for the duration of my vacation. They hit all the key locations, and the cool breeze from the open top of the bus was a nice respite from the heat during long days of sightseeing. You could spend entire days wandering the areas near the drop-off sites, so having transport to get there saved my poor, worn-out feet from a lot of extra steps!
Must see
If you're interested in ancient Rome, take in the usual sites -- the Pantheon, the Forum, the Colosseum -- but don't miss the Appian Way. There's a hop on/hop off bus tour that will take you there, and you can walk on the stones laid before Julius Caesar ruled. Take a long walk! It's a very nice and relaxing place to escape the busy city for a few hours. There were only a few people walking the road when I was there, so it was peaceful and quiet and beautiful. Get away from the tourists and the street hawkers selling scarves and hats, and enjoy a peaceful day with blue sky, chirping birds, and ancient tombs and monuments along this historic path. I spent my best day in Rome on the Appian Way!

“Great Hotel, excellent location”

My family stayed in a triple room in this hotel, and was very comfortable. The hotel itself is elegant, with lots of black marble and antiqued mirrored walls. The shower, while a little cramped, was very adequate. The air conditioner in the room worked very well. The room was quiet, the staff were gracious and helpful, and the breakfast was amazing! more than you would expect to be offered in even a 5 star hotel. The location is perfect. Close enough to walk to Trevi Fountain Spanish steps, and the Pantheon, and a short cab ride away from the colosseum and Vatican. The area is safe, and close to restaurants and a main shopping street. All in all we would stay there again. The only minus was the firm mattress - we prefer a softer pillow-top, but in Italy all the places we have ever lodged in offered a firm mattress.

“BEAUTIFUL HOTEL - would recommend it”

The is a lovely hotel in a quiet side street. There is limited vehicle access. The room was lovely and spotlessly clean. The breakffast was abundant and varied. The staff in general were all very friendly. Hi Res restauarant had no atmoshere or much of a view so wouldnt recommend it. The location was perfect as everything was within easy reach, including the metro. One thing to be warned off is the bar tariff. After 10pm the prices went up by 3 times the rate pre 10pm! and you dont get any warning of this until the bill! The bar area is lovely though however the piano is too loud for the room so you wont be able to talk to each other! We would recommend the hotel but just watch out for the bar costs!!

Area recommendations
The Popolo area would be my recommended area as its chic, clean and within easy reach of everything, without being too crowded

“Pleasantly suprised - would recommend!”

Small, but very clean rooms. Front desk service was very friendly and helpful offering suggestions for local food. Hotel arranged for transportation from Airport prior to arrival. Nice location, walking distance to just about everything we wanted to see! Would definately go back.

“Central location”

I was extremely satisfied with the hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful, and our room was spacious and clean. The location was central to all major tourist sites - Spanish Steps, the Trevi Fountain and St Peter's was only 15 minutes walk away. I would definitely return.

“Amazing location but tiny rooms”

Valadier was perfectly located in Rome to walk out each day to all the sights, shops and restaurants. It is a well presented hotel, very tidy and clean. Our only real issue was the size of the room. It was the smallest hotel room I have ever seen -just big enough to fit the bed (a standard double). I should add that I had also paid to upgrade to a superior room! I would hate to see the standard room. However, the room was clean, well decorated and well maintained and realistically, you're not going to spend much time in the room anyway. Would have preferred a bigger room, and probably a better selection of cooked food for breakfast but overall we had a great time and the hotel wasn't a bad choice.

Area recommendations
I would strongly recommend staying around the Spanish Steps as they are perfectly located for just wandering around the city each day and there are a lot of great restaurants and things to see in the area. It isn't quiet but it will keep you entertained
