Caution

I would recommend the hotel but with caution, providing pros and con's. Overall we liked our room, good size, nice balcony and bathroom good size but you pay for this of course.

Spectacular!!! Definitely stay again!!

Posted 23-Oct-2014
This was by far the nicest hotel I have ever stayed in - could not fault it!! My room was divine and hotel amenities / facilities were everything you would expect from a Hilton Hotel. The service from staff was exceptional - made me feel like a VIP!! Some of the extras (e.g. In-Room Service) seemed a bit expensive, but honestly, it's worth every penny to experience this place. Highly recommended!!!

Beautiful hotel

Posted 22-Oct-2014
Pros: internet
Cons: service in restaurant could have been a little faster but I think Rome service in general is slow.
Location: Hotel is not central to Rome but the hotel provides an hourly shuttle bus but suited us well.
Lovely hotel. Fantastic breakfast - not to be missed!!

Simply gorgeous hotel, with excellent facilities

Posted 14-Oct-2014
Pros: The professionalism of the staff and the gorgeousness of the surroundings
Cons: The organisation of the shuttle bus.............. it was very disorganized, with many people being left disappointed when they couldn't get on
Location: The hotel was a short cab ride away from the main activities in the city
With a panoramic view overlooking Rome, this hotel is stunning, with every facility anyone would need for a restful, or an energetic holiday (I chose the former!!!). The bedrooms were quiet, and very comfortable. The Imperial Lounge was impeccable - with courteous staff, tasty food and a well stocked bar. The artwork adorning the hotel was breathtaking, and the grounds were extensive and varied.

Missing special touches

Posted 12-Oct-2014
Pros: View from the room and pool area
Cons: Add those finishing gestures for special occasions
Location: On top of a hill overlooking the city, great to relax after finishing sightseeing
Rooms are fantastic, stayed in Imperial Rome view room, all great except for soundproofing, woken twice with room adjoining noise in the early hours could here talking as if they were in the same room. Could not get into the Pergola restaurant as apparently booked up 2 months in advance shame they don't put this on their website as we booked the hotel to celebrate our wedding anniversary and couldn't get in, staff in Imperial lounge were great and arranged for us to have some drinks on the terrace, but even though it was our wedding anniversary the hotel did nothing special for us, stayed in hotels every year and had flowers, candles or wine in the room on day of our anniversary but nothing from this hotel, as alcohol was free in the Imperial club they could easily have put a bottle Proseco in our room! This is a really lovely hotel but felt it to be in personal.

Not as good as the first time we stayed....

Posted 12-Oct-2014
Pros: Beauty of public areas, separation from the madness of downtown Rome.
Cons: A lot in the service area.
Location: The hotel is isolated which is both a blessing and a curse. Hungry? Only place to eat is in the hotel. In a hurry?
We returned prior to embarking on a cruise. On our last stay we had a large room facing downtown Rome and the Basilica, overlooking the pool and the lion garden. This stay we got a smaller room, looking out over the front driveway toward a residential building with many clothes and rugs drying on the balcony. Also a garish cell phone structure. Not much, really. Our room was much smaller because they had obviously made the space into 2 rooms with a common entry passage. The toilet made a high pitched sound whenever it was flushed and this sound lasted for many minutes. Overall the room was not worth the price we payed. The public areas are still excellent with fine art and helpful staff. The lobby bar area was fun with live entertainment both nights we were there. The buffet breakfast was still good but the service from the waitstaff was frankly awful. They avoided eye contact, got angry when we noted we had not received silverware, neglected to refill our coffee cups unless begged. In the final analysis we both were disappointed and have decided to find another hotel next time we are in Rome.

rome before wine

Posted 30-Sep-2014
Location: you have to take a cab or shuttle to get in town, not a big deal with Uber and hotel shuttle
beautiful hotel and staff, had dinner there first night with lunch one day and drinks every night. amazing view and staff. my only complaint was the price of a diet coke and no refill offered. small part of a great experience mark

the hotel looks beautiful from the outside but once you're there as a guest you feel the emptiness and the lack of warmth

Very unfriendly and too many surprise add on costs

Posted 21-Sep-2014
Room was great, just too many add on costs including wifi, pool access, and $8 euro coffees plus unfriendly staff made our stay mediocre at best, we've stayed at many high end hotels or resorts and I would hesitate to book here again or recommend it.
