“Lovely people highly recommended!!”

My second time in Rome and took the family. The room we had was a rare find with a double bed and bunk beds and lots of space. The staff at the hotel are extremely friendly and welcoming. The hotel is beautiful and in the perfect setting. We love the Trastevere area but it's very easy to get lost and this location is easy to find and make your way to the city from. Very highly recommended hotel and we will definately be going back and passing on to friends.

Area recommendations
Trastevere is a wonderful area with friendly restaurants and small bars. The area feels like a taste of old Rome only slight touched by modernity.
Getting around
Everywhere is walking distance during a day out, even with children but there a great buses around.
Must see
Take the children up the hill in the Janiculum to see the cannon being fired every day at 12:00, at the Garibaldi monument.
Nightlife
Drink where the locals drink for a quarter of the price!

“Fabulous service, centrally located in the Greewich Village of Rome”

I can't say enough about the fabulous service. Before we even arrived, we were contacted via email to determine if we needed help with transportation from the airport. Then when it was time to leave, they not only arranged to have a taxi out in front at 4:00am, they were up themselves to help see us out. Wow. And we were only there for one night!! The pricing was fair for what you get - the rooms are comfortable and well appointed. Not luxurious, but then neither are the prices. And really, when you're in Rome, who hangs out in the hotel room? Its location is very central to all the happenings in Trastavere, which is the Greenwich Village of Rome. My only complaint, and this is more about the neighborhood than the hotel, is that it can get a little loud.

Area recommendations
It's impossible to pick one neighborhood in Rome - it depends on what you want to see/do. But if you've done most of the touristy stuff and want something a little more local - try Trastavere. The best comparison I can come up with would be Greenwich Village - younger average age, mostly local or students, kind of arty and slightly lower rent. This was the only place in Rome where we actually encountered someone who didn't speak perfect English. It's not high rent, there are some homeless and some $.99 Cent store equivalents. But we also found the best cheese shop and walking around at night we were surrounded by throngs of locals as opposed to tourists and the party goes late! Also there were some amazing restaurants - not tourist joints but the real deal that could compete in San Francisco or New York with updated food combinations, interesting presentations, and fabulous wine pairings. So when you're done seeing where Cesear died, go see where Rome lives.

“Lovely Italian Gem”

Sweet hotel in a charming neighborhood of Rome. Excellent continental breakfast (with great coffee). Staff very helpful and courteous. Cozy room and wonderful nearby restaurants and shops. Short walk across river to ancient rome sights.
