“Lovely Hotel”
Really enjoyed our stay, we had a family room where there was plenty of space, staff where friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean at all times as was the room. There was also a good range of food for breakfast.
“Wonderful wonderful Rome, thrown the coin in the fountain to make sure of a return....”
The package was extremely good. We were happy with the hotel. Only one minor complaint, the pillow was rather lumpy. But after a day walking around Rome for 12 hours, a few minutes discomfort before passing out is nothing. We had a wonderful time. We have thrown our coins into the fountain to secure a return trip. It is most certainly a city that begs you to return. Really wonderful experience.
“Would stay again”
Pinewood Hotel was everything it promised to be--clean, quiet hotel in the area surrounding Rome. As other reviewers have noted, a 4* hotel in Europe does not translate to a 4* hotel in the U.S...I'd put Pinewood at a solid 3. Getting around was a bit difficult but no fault of Pinewood--we were there during a transportation strike and buses were a bit hard to come by. The 49 to Piazza Cavour is convenient for getting to the city center (near Piazza Navona), and the metro is about a 10 minute walk. Cornelia (the metro stop) is near the end of the line so journeys can take a bit, particularly when transferring to the B line at Termini. However, can't say enough about the hotel service--our flight was delayed and the concierge was very prompt in responding to us that our room would still be held, and they had a ready supply of maps to aid us in navigating the city. Overall, an incredibly friendly staff, even the maids! The breakfast was ample, and only on one day (when we came down 30 min before the end) was there a low variety of food. Great value for the money, especially with the breakfast.
“'It was everything we wanted'”
Without Expedia we probably wouldn't have even considered this hotel and after all, it is not easily seen from the road either!! But what a find!! If you need a quiet, economical hotel, which supplies a large buffet breakfast and car park just a bus ride away from the Vatican, then this is your hotel. Friendly staff, bilingual always ready to help. Superb service, large comfortable foyer. Probably more suited to short stays when visitng the city but with so much to do in Rome that could turn out to be a long stay!
“Absolute Value for money - quiet, very accommodating!”
* We were only wanting a "bed" so were pleasantly surprised to find a hotel that was tastefully decorated, clean, comfortable, relatively quiet (as it's back off the road) air-con, car-park, great breakfast, has a 'bar',...the Hotel overlooks a "Pine Wood" parkland. * Hotel staff went 'out-of-their-way'...the jets of the spa bath didn't work...but you could still use the bath & shower...it seemed of "minor" importance in comparison to the overall experience in this hotel. * Bus stop RIGHT "outside" the front - one Euro bus tickets available at reception...once "on" the bus, we "punched" our tickets in the machine on board & they lasted for an hour & a quarter...same tickets can be used on the Metro, too.. It took about ten minutes to get to the Vatican on Bus number 49. We also returned to the hotel on Bus 49...but the stop was down a street to the right (from the Vatican - if facing the Vatican.) * We ate our main meals while in the city (we got a x3 day open top city tour bus from in front of the Vatican, so we could hop on & hop off plus listen to the commentary - around thirty Euros each.) * There was a great internet cafe a hundred metres or so from the hotel...a fruit shop...takeaways etc. * We spent x3 happy nights there.
“Great hotel”
Situated just outside the Vatican City and about 1/2 hour from both airports. Good price and location, literally 10 mins walk to metro - very easy to use and get around. Buy an all day ticket if you plan to pack in a lot of sites. Hotel staff very helpful, pity no restaurant facilities for evening dining. Breakfast adequate but not quite up to the same standards of other Italian hotels. Would definitely recommend this hotel.
“hotel very comfortable”
the hotel was quite and clean very helpful staff, convienent for the metro, and buses,
“We will book Pinewood Hotel again”
A welcoming Hotel nice and clean out side the centre of Rome. To reach Hotel it is 10 stops from Termini station to Cornelia Station and another two bus stops from Cornelia Station or 15 minutes walk to the most. Different types of shops are near Cornelia Station like Upim, Mac Donalds, Pharmacy and Food Store Sma etc. The Hotel offers a buffet breakfast but everyday is the same no warm food, A small toaster for all people and it takes 4 minutes to toast 2 single slices! Room safe worked for the first day and than could not be fixed! No room bar but airconditioned room, but overall satisfied and all the staff are very helpfull. They help you with directions and gives you maps and book tours for you. Thank You for a wonderful stay.
“Pinewood Hotel - Excellent Service.”
I would like to comment positively for the courtesy and efficiency of the staff at the hotel. We were a couple with a baby and they made us feel incredibly welcome, always smiling and providing their support in all circumstances, helping us with luggage and always be very patient, In particular I would like to comment on two member of staff: the chambermaid Desina, a wonderful person who was always very keen on helping us with a smile and the excellent Salvatore, the receptionist. It was a very nice experience, because for the first time we were staying in a 4 stars hotel but we felt the atmosphere and the warmth of a private house.
“Great Hotel, but small rooms”
The Pinewood is ideally located. 5 mins from Metro station and then 20 min journey into centre of Rome. Staff friendly, Breakfast substantial and good. Atmosphere in hotel comfortable. Only complaint was that room was too small, but as we spent all day out of room, not a real problem. If I ever wanted to go back to Rome, i would use this hotel again
