“First Time in Rome, First Time in 5*, not the last”
Where-ever you go, you'll always be able to find little itsy-bitsy that you don't like, or which could be better or improved. Perfection does not exist. We were over the moon with the reception of the personnel, the comfort and the cleanliness. People were so nice to us. We did not try the hotel restaurant, as we did go out every night, so we won't judge on that.
“will not dissapoint anyone”
great location, within walking distance of the spanish steps.Breakfast was something to look forward to each morning, every variety you could wish for. Service was impeccable. Dident try the restaruant as it is expensive, there are many good restaurants within walking distance.
“Very Elegant”
I would definitely go back to this hotel. Be sure to have breakfast included with your room or you will probably not eat in the hotel because it is expensive. We tried the michelin starred restaurant Mirabelle and it was very good, extremely elegant and extremely expensive. One comment I would like to pass on...the airport ride in the taxi is actually regulated by the government and to this hotel it should cost 40 euros either to or from the airport but the taxi drivers will try to charge what is on the meter. Even the doorman at the Splendide Royal tried to have me negotiate with the driver for 45 euros. I said "fine" but when I arrived at the airport the driver wanted me to pay what was on the meter 51 euros. When I said I thought the price was 40 he said 45 and when I said no 40 he said yes, 40!
“Fantastic Hotel close to all the sites”
We visited Rome in early september and it was very hot but it was always a relief to get back to the wonderfully cool hotel. The staff were great really friendly and told us where to go to see the bast parts of Rome. Inside the hotel was as impressive as it's pictures. Definitely recommend.
“Quiet Oasis in Busy Capital”
A small hotel offering traditional levels of 5 star service. Excellent rooms. Ours only lacked a mirror in the main room and complementary water but otherwise it was very good. Superb roof top restaurant with great views across the city to St Peters.
“Highly Recommended”
The Hotel is centrally located within half hours walk of all the major sights except the Vatican. Situated in a quiet residential area next to Rome's main park the hotel is splendid as the name suggests. The staff were excellent and the room was large with a comfortable bed, safety deposit box,mini-bar etc as you'ld expect (only complaint no tea making facilities in room ) Bathroom was equally spacious. We had a great time and would have no hesitation in recommending this Hotel to anyone.
“Great break”
A really excellent, if slightly over the top, small 5 star hotel. Check out the photographs for the style of furnishings which are classical but a bit gaudy. Location is very slightly out of the main area but close enough for short stroll and worth it for the beatifull views over parkland not other buildings or roof tops. The service was impeccable but oh how expensive the 'extras' are. Continental breakfast 23 euros per person - Cooked breakfast 35 Euro - Both plus 15% for room service. Mini bar - 12 Euro for miniature spirit, 8 for small beer, 6 for can coke!! Evening meal £100+ per person plus drinks. If you can live with theses prices then you'll love it. If not, do what we did and avoid and eat out. There are many, many restaurants within a short distance. My only gripe was that we would really have liked tea & coffee making facilities in the room, which there weren't.
“Definitely stay here”
Great hotel, very friendly staff who go out of their way to help you out. Can't recommend highly enough.
“Friendly staff, wonderful food, genuine 5 star accommodation”
Ww booked 3 rooms at the hotel and could not fault any of them. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The food in the Michelin 1 star restaurant is very expensive but well worth the experience as a one off ; the views from the terrace are breathtaking. We breakfasted at local cafes as it isn't worth paying the prices at the hotel. I would recommend the hotel to anyone. One comment not related to the hotel - don't use the airport shuttle service, it's a nightmare - get a taxi.
“Not to be missed!”
Fantastic hotel with excellent service in a perfect location. Friendly staff who helped us with our missing baggage. I would recommend it to anyone and it truly deserves 5 stars.
