“Great Stay”
If you want a hotel close to the Vatican (10 min walk & just as close as the metro stop for the Vatican) and reasonably priced, this is it. Carlo was wonderful checked us in, gave us a great map of the city and marked places to eat in the hotel area and also a few other locations. Very good breakfast available. Can walk everywhere from there or public transportation is close - bus stop is 3 blocks away or metro is 7-10 min walk. Great location - I would go back.
“i would stay elsewhere”
Very disorganized operation with rooms in two different buildings and coffin sized elevators. The A/C, phones and TV did not work. the location is a bit inconvient as it is 15 min walk to the Metro...and a 20 min walk to the vatican, and Spanish steps, ect.
“Won't return”
There was no conventional desk, just a small table in a hallway upstairs. They apparently overbooked, so led us a block up the street to another old office building and a room whose A/C "hadn't been switched over yet". Offered to let us see a couple of other rooms in the main building which didn't meet our original request. They were dark and dismal, poorly decorated, if at all. Nice and polite young people as receptionists, but could only work with what they were provided by management, which was not in evidence. Scary, tiny old elevators covered in dust served both buildings. Never before provided so little for the price. Twelfth visit to Rome, so have seen a lot. Be careful what you book!
“Happy with hotel”
Hotel Sant Angelo was conveniently located in a very nice neighborhood a few blocks from the western side of the Tiber. The room was clean and though it was on the small side, was very comfortable and cozy. The best feature were huge, beautifully shuttered windows, which afforded lovely city views. My only complaint was that there was no TV in the room, even though the hotel's amenities were supposed to include satellite TV. While I did not go to Rome to watch TV, it is nice to have after a long day of walking around the city. When I inquired about it with hotel staff, they said it was broken and would do their best to procure one. After five nights, no TV ever appeared. All in all, I enjoyed my stay at the hotel, and would stay there again if I return to Rome.
“Great Hotel, Great location, Breakfast disappointing!”
The weekend trip was amazing! We did everything we had planned and more! The location of the hotel was perfect. A short walk to the vatican, nearly next door to Saint Angelos Castle and a short walk to the Trevi fountain, Spanish Steps and the Piazza Navona. Hotel - Ideal location, clean hotel and rooms, kettle and hairdryer in rooms, staff very polite and helpful. The downside was breakfast. Dont get me wrong, the continental buffet breakfast was lovely but you had to be there early to see any of it. Our second morning was a 9am breakfast and it was a fight to get the last bread roll. I had to make do with a croissant and ham left behind by the previous guest and share a tea bag with my sister.(we had to clear our own table). I would also suggest bringing your own tea bags as the hotel ran out of black tea, they also didnt leave any in our rooms apart from 2 when we first arrived. By the final day, I had learned to ask for everything. Managed to get breakfast and tea by asking direct, rather than waiting till it appeared on the buffet tables. Perhaps its the Roma Way!!! Overall I would still recommend the hotel but woudl suggest to give the breakfast a miss unless you were prepared to fight for it!
“Short stay OK”
The hotel was dissapointing to say the least. I couldn't fault the location at all or the neighbourhood( very nice). The hotel room was another matter. No kettle, leaking shower and tv that worked sometimes but no sat channels. Depressing room to return to after pounding the streets of rome all day. We stayed 7 days. After 3 days we hated it. Rome is a fantastic place to visit but it really tires you out, so a good comfortable hotel room is important, and quite frankly this wasn't. Ok for 2 to 3 days max.
“Good value for money”
Hotel staff were very helpful and accommodating. Room was fine, nothing special but fine if you are just there to sleep in and out the rest of the time. Bathroom was very small and you would struggle in the shower if you were large. 24 hour reception which is great if you're out late. Definitely reccommend it for a cheap and cheerful place to stay.
“Great location but hotel was shabby”
Poor hotel.
“Great Location”
Location and breakfast make this hotel a solid choice. Staff always helpful. Can walk to everything. Grocery and pizza nearby.
“Simple but very well located hotel.”
The location is excelent. The hotel is nothing special, but for sleaping and take a bath is good.
